I want to buy this MB http://www.evga.com/Products/Product.aspx?pn=150-HE-E997-KR  my only concern is memory. If I dont fill all the memory slots will I lose performance? Will there be a difference with going with four 8gig sticks or should I go with 8 4g sticks ?
Thanks Chuck

There will be no performance loss as long as you put in at least 4.  The chipset is designed for Quad channel (4 DIMM kits) if you use less than that you will reduce bandwidth, but once you have 4 DIMMs you are good.
Normally, if you think upgrading memory volume in the future is a possibility/likelihood then I suggest going with the largest good brand name 4 DIMM kit that is within your budget, the add it to your price watch at your etailer of choice so you know when it goes on sale, as you will want to buy identical RAM when you upgrade.

The difference between 4x8gb DIMMs and 8x4gb DIMMS is when all else is equal, 4x8gb is usually a bit easier on the memory controller and will typically be able to run at a bit higher peak speed as it is only working with 4 DIMMs rather than 8.

    Hope that helps.
