Hi,
My GPU (AMD Radeon 4800 Series) died recently so i bought an EVGA 2gb Nvidia Geforce GTX 960 card. Since installing the new card my computer reboots when i open some games. I have no problems opening and playing some games (Terraria, Surgeon Simulator, the escapists) but more GPU intensive games (Tera, Subnautica and GTA5) cause my computer to reboot. The game will load to the main menu but when i try and start the game it reboots my computer at the load screen. It also does this when trying using software to benchmark the GPU. i used EVGA OC Scanner X and Heaven Benchmark to test the GPU and both reboot the computer in the same way as the games ().

I've been troubleshooting and googling solutions since yesterday and have tried the following so far with no luck.

1. I booted into safe mode and used Display Driver Uninstaller to remove all graphics drivers and re-installed the latest driver from Nvidia.
2. I've started the games at lower resolutions and tried loading them in full screen and windowed mode.
3. I've installed games not previously installed on my computer when i used my old GPU.
4. I've checked to make sure all my drivers and software are up-to-date.
5. I converted a hd video to test if the CPU was over heating.

Any help with this would be much appreciated.

Download EVGA Precision online or on Steam and downclock the card by 200mhz in both core clock and memory clock. The reason for this is I believe your card could be unstable and this is a quite common issue. Another thing is if your over locking you CPU, then that could be the problem also. Other things you could try though is making sure all the cables are nicely and hopefully other people chip in too.

But deffinitly try the downclock because it generally works for crashing and then you can get an RMA or EAR and get a new card that doesn't do that and runs at its default clock nicely.

Sounds like a faulty psu. Replacing your current psu with a higher quality unit should fix the issue.

Placed a Ticket with EVGA. They suggested changing the PSU. I went out and bought a new one, now it works without crashing. I'll keep an eye on it but looks like its been solved.

Thanks for your help.
