If I were you I'd simply get rid of XP and try out Windows 10 and see if this operating system meets your needs. Windows 10 has DX 12 so when games are coded for it you'll get a nice performance boost.

Agreed.

And just to add, some older games/programs/software might need to be run in Compatibility Mode to work..Some will work, some won't, from my experience using Compatibility Mode (in Win7 and Vista).

So i dont want to install xp x64 and see the same message when i go to install the drivers

in fact.... who made these drivers? cause i cant find them anywhere on nvidia's website.

I can see why THe OP would/might have windows XP on his computer, to play those games that just do not/will not work with windows 7, vista, or 8, or whatever. But that's where the problem comes while using a Titan X, he won't have any available RAM,while using windows xp 32 bit. How about windows XP 64 bit? He could use that....

At Lephron : In no way was i trying to give a judgemental attitude, but the response that i was given when asked, "what was the reason for purchasing a Titan", only to be given a disgruntled remark (Hating while asking for help makes me shake my head) makes need to check him so he understands he's going to get some strange questions, especially when dealing with xp 32 bit in today's era (Plus the requirements of the Titan X). I don't think he understands that the Titan is going to suck all his "juice".

On another note, can someone help me out here.... Didn't Microsoft introduce that "Virtualization mode" for this reason? So programs that required windows xp would work on windows 7?

that virtualization mode is good only for Programs.  Not games.  Already went that route a while back.  Thats why i ended up with dual boot to windows XP.

my only concern with XP Pro is the fact that i might not be able to do an in-place upgrade to that.  Not entirely sure if i can.   I just really dont want to have to install from scratch everything.

maybe someone here can confirm whether i can or cannot do an in-place upgrade to XP Pro.

So i think i understand what everyone is saying regarding the titanX and XP 32bit.  Because the card uses 12 GB, your thinking that since XP only uses 4gb or 3.5GB whatever, that the card would suck all the juice.

That would make sense... but i was using the GTX680 Classifieds 4GB cards with latest Nvidia Drivers on XP32bit no problem before i upgraded to TItan X.  So would'nt that have caused issues too if what your saying is true?

Anyway
i just tried 353.86 and nvidia tells me "Cannot find compatible hardware" :(!!!!!!!
i have not tried the rest but i will.
there must be a way to modify these drivers to force them to work on XP.

Have you tried Windows compatibility mode? and just select "windows XP" ?  nevermind, It wont allow it.

Hey,

Those drives could be modified by anybody imo. Maybe somebody modified "infs" and now it "suposedly" works on xp. But seriously, XP ? They should've ended support for xp, vista a LONGGG time ago imo.

One Word -- VMWare

I suggest importing your 2nd boot partition into a VMware Workstation image. Boot off of the Windows 7 partition and run the VM. VMware will dynamically allocate the memory as needed from the card and you don't have to worry about the drivers as it will be passed through to your XP image. I have done this in the past and had great performance with games as long as the host system (Windows 7 in this case) has the adequate specs and you aren't running a bunch of TSR applications.

Just my .02

If you do decide to go the VMware route, send me a PM and I can help you out with a Workstation license. NFR of course.

Since XP is not really supported anymore you're also running a possible security risk

Techpowerup drivers probably are for GTX 960 and cards of series 7xx and older. For GTX 970/980 the first driver released (344.11) was supporting Windows XP (No Titan X at that time), but then support removed. You could find and use newer modified drivers for GTX970/980 thanks to a Russian site if I remember correct. You can try to compare the .inf file of GTX 960 XP driver with the one of 32-Bit drivers (vista and up) that support Titan X and add Titan X lines on Win XP GTX 960 .inf but I haven't tried it and I can't guarantee that this will be enough.

i will show you my gpu-z screenshot when i install the drivers for my titan-x on windows xp.

i could of sworn my GTX 680's showed 4gb in windows xp on gpuz

Well, yeah, GPU-z will show the full amount of VRAM. GPU-z shows the card's specifications. It doesn't show the memory pool available to the operating system. Just because a card has 4 or 12 GB of VRAM doesn't mean that XP 32-bit can use it. Try taking a look at the VRAM available in DXinfo DXdiag or NVIDIA system information.

I dont care about whether Windows XP uses my Vram or not.  I dont need more than 1GB of video ram for the applications i am running anyway.  I just need a damn driver that will alow me to increase my resolution to at least 1080p and run my older games.  not asking for much.

I tried to look into whether i could find windows XP inf's in the drivers for the GTX980 since its relativley almost the same as a titan X but there are not XP drivers for the GTX980.  I was only able to find drivers for GTX960

i am tempted to see if i can get the Windows XP inf's from that Driver and somehow unpack the Titan X drivers and implement them and then pack it back up and run!

If I were you I'd simply get rid of XP and try out Windows 10 and see if this operating system meets your needs. Windows 10 has DX 12 so when games are coded for it you'll get a nice performance boost.

people must not be reading my orignal thread info.  I have windows 7 and am very VERY happy with that OS.  But i also use windows XP.  again no other OS will run the particular games i am running better on any other OS!  trust me on this.  there are just some things that are meant for Windows XP and no one has been able to mod them to work Better on another OS.  PERIOD!

so no,    getting windows 10 will not solve my problem.  I would however get windows 10 to replace my windows 7 SURE!!

but XP has got to stay for me as well.

Compatibilty mode does nothing.  Never has it ever done anything for me.

and its not that the games will not run on win7 and above.  Far from it!

its the quality of experience with the Drivers on XP for Sound and gameplay that just dont work right on any OS other than Windows XP.  also not to mention annoying Bugs that have to be put up with runing them on windows 7 or above

i have vmware workstation 8 and i got it for free because i work for a partnering company.  So that should work fine i imagine.

But dude! seriously! be honest to GOD....... how is the 3D performance on a VM really?.

and describe to me the games you are testing, and the Settings you are running the game in and the FPS please.

Really sorry for dig of old topic, but here's my ultimate answer :)
You only need .inf edit (in two places : Add ID of GPU, and at the end of .inf add cards name).
I used latest driver for Windows XP.

Card takes 512MB of System RAM as reserved, the same as standard SLI configuration.
Titan Black needs 256MB just FYI.
