Just wanted to say thanks for the fun over the past years and to wish me luck.  Tomorrow morning i leave for the United States Air Force.  Something i've always dreamed of doing and its finally coming around.  Many great friends i've made here and have helped encourage me along this path.  Next time you guys see the moose i'll be much more 'fro less.

Also happy memorial day since that is tomorrow as well, keep those who lost their life at war in your thoughts and prayers.

I never regretted my 20 years in the USAF. Lackland basic training is a 'no brainer'. Just do whatever they tell you and you'll be fine.

If you get a chance post some basic training pictures from your flight and let us know where your 1st base location will be after the training.

Good luck!  I will bet by now your second guessing yourself as they are screaming and yelling at you.  That was night 2 for me.  Stay the course and just do what you are asked.  You will be given impossible tasks.  They just want to see how you react.  its 50% brain games, 40% sleep deprivation, and 10% how well do you play with others.  Remember to keep your chin up.  That will get you through.  If you find yourself in a rut... remember its only the air force - its not like its a REAL basic like the Marines or the Army ;)

(oh yea, and you will realize how much the services hate on each other, but when it comes time to it, we stick together, so consider that your first jab from the Army!)

Hey Moose, hope all is going well. Maybe you'll read this in a few weeks. Hope you're having fun. Although nowhere near the same thing I've been having fun myself with Civil Air Patrol. I've lost 48 pounds in the last 9 months, got my 2d Lt butter bars and just this last month gotten my aircrew basic and ground team basic badge. I hope you're making new friends and having fun learning new things.
