Hi there,

Have the GTX970 SSC for a week now and. Suddenly when playing GTAV my screen was full of square black spots and the game crashed. If i start Chrome i get the those little squares back and the screen freezes and then the driver is crashing..The driver installed was 352.86. I deleted all previous drivers and installed a clean one: 350.12 but still the same. If i start a game or do a benchmark it all freezes and have to close it manually.. If some one can help me please?

Thanks.
(sorry for bad English, I'm from Belgium)

You seem to be having a lot of graphical artifacts which are the random dots you see. I'm not quite certain what causes it, but if the drivers crash than we know it's not your monitor.

Here are some things you can try

    1) Use a diffrient port on your graphics card, an example would be change from HDMI slot 1 to HDMI slot 2.

    2) Download EVGA Precision X and downclock both the memory and core clock. This will eliminate the possibility your card is unstable.

    3) Download DDU (driver uninstaller) and boot into safe mode. Use the program to uninstall your drivers and more (windows doesn't do it all). Than reinstall the newest driver WITH ONLY the graphic driver by doing a custom install. You also want to do a clean install.

    4) Call EVGA and ask for the cards stock BIOS and download that, they should email you the file and instructions.

    5) Wait for other suggestions and/or call EVGA 24/7 tech support.

Hi, i this is what i did:

Connected a dvi cable: still crashed

Downloaded EVGA precision X 16 and downclocked to 1051mhz (think this is stock speed according to nvidia website)  and tested with 3d mark. This was a succes. The driver didn't crash anymore for now. Before i wasn't able to  start 3d mark..

    What do you suggest now?

    Greetings

I don't know much about belgian consumer law but I guess you can decide wether you want to send it back to EVGA for warranty or to your seller.

I'm pretty sure EVGA is faster in terms of changing the cards (will probably take around 3-4 working days) on the other hand you have to pay for the shipping to their warranty center in germany.

If you send it back to your seller he will probably pay for the shipping fee but the whole process might take (sometimes way) longer.

thanks for the help. According to the product warranty the shipping From EU country's is for free:

    Shipping

    • EVGA does not ship to PO Box or Mail Forwarding addresses.
    • EVGA will pay for return shipping for EU customers for RMA warranty replacements mostly via UPS ground.
    • Customers located outside the EU, including military deployment PO addresses, will be responsible for return shipping. International shipments may be shipped via FedEx, UPS or DHL.
    • Damaged boxes or products received in shipping envelopes will be immediately rejected and returned to sender

So i send them an email for RMA now
