So I'm moving to the St. Augustine area of Florida next May... I actually just got back from vacation there and decided I liked it that much... Plus I met my soulmate there hahahaha!!! Anyone live around those parts?

I grew up in Florida. You can find some good people there.

Been to Florida many times. Hated it every time.

I was born in South Miami. Went to college at FSU and now live again in north Tampa. Of all the places in the world where I have worked and lived I would rather be in a colder climate but family keeps me here (brothers, sisters, mother and cousins) for now. When/if I have the opportunity I'll move out of state again but for now this is home.

I've been to Florida once. Good place to visit, lots of attractions. I don't really know you on a personal level, but from the post you made... It seems like a hasty choice. Had a co-worker that moved like that to be with a girl, when things didn't go well with the relationship a year or so into it and he had everything invested in the move, he was left in a town where he knew no one and his nearest family was more than a few states away. Just watch your self man, that kinda stuff can end as fast as it started.

Yes, at times it can feel like you are carrying around a small pool in your clothing. Depending on the time of year and the amount (or lack of) rainfall it can be quite humid. Considering my house is on a lake I'm fairly certain I have year round humidity.

Been there several times. It's a nice place to visit. And some very beautiful sunset's. I would say, since that's your planned move save up what you can. I know moving is expensive, but don't leave yourself stuck. If it turns out it wasn't right, make sure you have a backup. You will know shortly after a few months. I have seen people get stuck with no way to exit, because all of their income is going to make it day to day. You have a year to plan so that should help. I seen the girl comment and groaned, most of know how that works out in the long one. Best of luck with the move.

I am not sure honestly, I'm not sure whether I will be in a dorm or apartment to finish my last couple years of school yet.

When I finish school I will likely be moving up north closer to where my girlfriend of almost five years is.

I live on between Jacksonville and St. Augustine BF3PRO!  I love it here and have been here for over 10 years now.  Like RJ said, there are good places and bad places.  I happen to live in a good pocket of Jacksonville/St. Augustine.  St. Johns county is a great county to live in.  It does get humid here and that is no joke.  I do not care for the summers but, 8 months of the year is awesome and makes up for the summer heat.  Understand that during the summer, you will be fighting for that shady parking spot where ever you go.  You will have to experience a full year here to really have a good view on if you like Florida or not.  When you coming down?

Hey Halo, you are living in Fruit Cove now?  Dang, you are about 5 minutes or less from me now.  I guess I need to watch out for you now!  hehe!
 

I have never eaten there before but have walked by the place several times though.  Haven't been down to the historic district lately.  Don't go down there often due to all of the tourism.
