What is the difference between the 2.0 and 2.0+? Please, no "it runs cooler". I am wondering about technical differences.

The 2.0 cooler has the straight heat-pipe confguration, as well as improved low-power fans that save more power for the GPU. There's more details on the 970 FTW+ page, for example.

google acx 2.0 970 heatsink and you will see that the 2.0 is what everyone was complaining about and the 2.0+ is a rectified model.

Oh, that makes sense. Is that when everyone was saying that it did not lay over the GPU like the 980 does?

yes that is exactly it. the newer ones (not always the ones you will get when you buy them) are the ones with the better coolers, you have to make sure you get the +

they are the same price mind, so...

I actually wasn't looking at buying one. I have a 980 SC. I was just wondering, because I didn't see any specific release article to the 2.0+. I guess they just explained it with the 970. That does make sense, though, as only the 980 Kingpin has the + in the 980 series.

I got the gtx 970 ssc version (04G-P4-2975-KR) with the acx 2.0 cooler.
I hope they will sell the acx 2.0+separately for those ho have the 2.0 cooler.

    Hello,
I'm wondering if any of you have installed ACX2.0 and how difficult it was?
My titanX was running above 90C inside 7 fan case so I RMAed it. I'm wondering if ACX2.0 would help...

I switched to the ACX cooler on my Titan X. It isn't difficult and it cut at least 7C from the max. temp. and that's with Nvidia's default fan curve. One should be able to cut 10C or more with a custom fan curve.

Seems 980 cards with that dual fan cooler are called ACX2.0, and corresponding 980 Ti cards have ACX2.0+?

    so, what's the difference?

ACX 2.0+ was the revised and improved version of ACX 2.0 which had a few issues.  For example, the 3 heatpipes on the original ACX 2.0 did not make full contact with the chip on the card.  Basically ACX 2.0+ is better than ACX 2.0 because of improvements made.

I did some search with google. Don't think that's the thing.

I am too new to the forum to post links. Please search the specific card, you could find it easily
I dont want to just copy here the photos others published online.

I did see mentioning problems with "Three" heatpipes' version and chip contact issue. But that's on GTX SC 970 FTW ACX (and maybe others).
    also similar

Note that different cards have different PCB layout. Thus though all named ACX2.0, they are different things. Say the GTX 960 SSC ACX2.0+ gets a three straight heatpipe version (but doest not bother with the above mentioned problem)
And GTX 980 SC ACX 2.0 looks like:
    Then on GTX 980 Ti SC+ ACX2.0+:
None of them have the contact issue above, if that's what you meant.

I am interested that under what condition, a text of "ACX2.0+" is used, to highlight it different than those "ACX2.0" coolers. Obviously, the number of heatpipes could be very different (both ACX2.0+, 960 vs 980Ti), and the layout could be very similar (980 vs 980 Ti, looks close).

The fans on the Classified are bigger then the standard ACX 2.0+ size as well
