Grrrrrettings,

so people don't have to go through all the pages of the different threads, here's all the info about the upcoming EVGA GeForce GTX TitanX HYBRID. Thanks a lot to 'Mr. CS' JacobF

EVGA_JacobF
The existing Hybrid cooler fits perfectly fine on a TITAN X, even the shroud fits, it just says GTX 980 on it. Regarding an "official" Hybrid cooler for TITANX, this is something in the works.

Does Evga plan to sell a hybrid with Titan X branding instead of 980? Im willing to wait if there is one in the works.

Yes, should see it by end of month. [May 2015]

EVGA_JacobF
No plans at the moment for JUST shroud, but we may look into

2015/05/14: Update regarding AiO-Kit & Shroud:

EVGA_JacobF
We plan to have both.

2015/05/17: Update #2 regarding AiO-Kit & Shroud:

EVGA_JacobF

I think the "no plans for JUST shroud" was in response to people who had purchased the 980 AIO for their Titan X and were wondering if EVGA would release just the shroud upgrade for them, apart from the pump/rad/etc..

Yup

I'll keep this first post updated with upcoming info/news about the EVGA TitanX HYBRID.

Can't wait to get my cards under water... they're far too loud with the stock cooler. I love that we're starting to get AIOs for graphics cards... an H110 for my CPU and two of these for my GPUs

To me it sounds like no kit ("no plans for JUST shroud") but a TitanX HYBRID just like the 980 HYBRID.

Jacob, can you chime in again? :)

Is it possible to run a push-pull configuration with a 3 pin fan splitter from the video card PCB? I have seen a lot of pictures of 2 fans with the one radiator, but I am not sure how these are being assembled. Could use the MB of course, but I would prefer to use the software with the video card. Thanks.

It should be possible, we already have cards that use dual fans (like ACX) the wiring would need to be redesigned obviously though. We are also looking at ways to run the fan wire through the water tubes for reduced cables. Maybe in future though

Thanks. Guess you could tuck the wires behind the fan housing and secure them with a small cable tie. I don't think 2 fans off the fan header on the video card PCB will pull too much electricity. Specs on one set of fans that I have reviewed is .26A each.

I'm probably being stupid, so could you please explain - does this mean a closed loop Titan X hybrid is coming, as in, with cooler installed and all? That would be seriously amazing, but I don't see how it can happen if all Titans are supposed to have stock cooling when sold, or am I wrong?
And a slightly related question. Can such a closed loop be put in SLI with a stock air-cooled GPU? For example, can a GTX 980 hybrid be SLI'd with a normal 980? Thanks in advance.

Yes, they can be in SLI.  Just remember that if one has a lower clock, they will both run at the lower clock unless you 'unlink' them in something like Precision X and overclock the lower one.

What use is knowledge if there is no understanding?~Stobaeus

Thanks for the answer! That's what I thought, but wanted to make sure. I do understand about the clock, but it shouldn't really be a problem. My goal is not to OC in this case, but to bring temps down. I'm currently rocking two 780 Tis in SLI, and the upper one gets real hot sometimes (83c), while the lower one never goes above 60c, and evens stays at 33c in idle. The goal is to upgrade to a combo of water and air cooled GPUs so that the upper one is cooled with water and thus would run at same stable temps, since currently some graphics-intensive games like Evolve are actually crashing my PC unless I keep the case opened when playing.

Now I just have to decide whether or not to wait for the Hybrid Titan X, and that depends on it being sold as a closed loop or not. Hope to get an answer on that from someone as well.

I'm running push/pull off my motherboard and it's a pain getting the software to adjust the fan speed when needed. It isn't adjusting according to the assigned temperature probes I have set up most of the time, or it takes way too long and the cards hit 65 degrees before backing down to 50 or so.

I can't remember... does the GPU fan software actually control the fan on the radiator, or is it always at a static RPM? I have my fans go down to 700/500 RPM in idle and 1700/1200 under load... works great.

IMO the best way to control fans on anything water cooled is to monitor the delta between ambient and water.  The water is what is cooling the components and it will react somewhat slower and different than the actual components.  A device that you can set up a fan curve to that delta temp actually is needed though (aquaero).   I would bet the AIO uses the GPU temp for fan control, so fan reaction will never be perfect.

Feeling like the first child here having bought a 970 SC and being left out :( I'd drop £150 on this thing for a 970. Even if it meant having to install a base plate and all the stuff I don't get with my card. Really want to hybridise my 970.

I don't recall seeing one thread about people asking for this for the Titan :( seen loads for the 970.

I saw someone already put the AIO kit on GTX970 with reference cooler(Titan Cooler we call). It worked on GTX970 reference as well

TITAN X will show real power with EVGA Hybrid Cooler.
With stock cooler TITAN X SC work about 85-86C, under full load.
If Hybrid drop temps on 70C with 1400-1500RPM fans that would be amazing hardware.
People have lot of space for OC and stay under 85-86C.
Some people could even reach 1200MHz base clock on TITAN X SC with Hybrid cooler.
I believe it's possible. Great hardware! I could imagine gaming with TITAN X 1200MHz base clock, WOW!

If only they would see this and reply.

I am using 2 of Titan X with Hybrid Cooler. It is not SC model so it is base clock as 1000 MHZ. Since I overclock my 2 of Titan X to 200 on core so the base clock is 1200 MHZ. The boost clock on the game or benchmark is around 1350 MHZ.

I never had blue screen or freeze on the game or benchmark with 200 MHZ up on base clock. So it seems it is stable with 1200 MHZ base clock. The temp max up around 60 degree on first card and 58 degree on second card when I played the GTA 5 on 1440P , 144HZ gsync monitor.

So if you are using Titan X the Hybrid Kit is cheapest way to cool the Titan X and keep boosting the clock.

    Hi all,
Yep this was one of my wants and if EVGA is going to give a option to preinstall the liquid cooler to the Titan X SC :)

Another thing is why doesn't this card have a back plate :/
Very odd seeing the Z series does and I believe all other prior versions do have back plates.
    Cheers.
Although for some odd reason I'm leaning towards the Z SC :/

    My first build,
Case 450D/ ASUS Sabertooth X99/ 5930k with EK mono block / Water loop EK 280p-GTX240 radiators with D5 pump res combo before rads and D5 top after / Trident-Z 3200C14 4x8gb/ EVGA 1000 P2/ EVGA 1080ti FTW3 with EK copper water block.

    2nd build,
    Case D450/ ASUS x299 Prime Deluxe/ i9-7900x delidded with EK mono block/ Trident-Z 3600C16 4x8gb/ Water loop EK-280p-GTX240 radiators with D5 pump-res combo before rads and D5 top after/ EVGA 1200 P2 / Titan Xp with EK water block.

Nvidia is pretty strict with the Titan lineup, and just like they don't allow any non-reference coolers, they claim they don't want a backplate installed as it might impede airflow and temps in SLI setups.

So basically, EVGA's only option is to make it available aftermarket.

    Hi,
How does after market help that,
It also does not explain why the titan z oc.. has one and the x oc.. does not
Strict ? sounds more like inconsistency to me :/
Beside with a water cooler how much hotter would it be getting :)

Because they can sell the part people want without going against Nvidia's requirements that they only sell Titans the way they want them sold?

And yes it does explain that just fine, since the Titan Z is a Dual GPU card and far less likely to be put in an SLI setup than the Titan X. Besides, just because they share similar names, or even similar designs (the GTX 980 reference, which does have a backplate) doesn't make them the same card. The Titan X is it's own card, and on the Titan X, Nvidia is concerned about the airflow in SLI with backplates installed by default. Period.

They said it. Not me. Not EVGA. Nvidia.

And we're not talking about water-cooling or custom loops. We're talking about the stock reference design. You asked, I answered. It really does make perfectly fine sense, if you want it to.
