Hello,

I recently switched out my ASUS board for a EVGA Z87 FTW board.  Everything has gone fairly well with the reinstall of Win 8 with the exception of 8.1.  After 8.1 installed I no longer see the Bluetooth Icon in my System Tray icons.  I have downloaded the bluetooth driver from the EVGA website to install again but I cannot seem to get it working.  I bought a microsoft bluetooth mouse that I can't connect...windows PC settings does not show a Bluetooth Option to select.  I understand that there is a setting in the bios but I have no clue how to access with the exception of pressing crtl+m during boot up but that brings me to the Marvell Raid screen.  Any ideas on how to troubleshoot this would be greatly appreciated.

    Here's a BIOS guide for the Z97.  It's probably pretty similar to the Z87 BIOS.  >>  http://www.evga.com/support/manuals/files/BIOS/152-HR-E979_BIOS_Guide.pdf
    Maybe it will help.

For entering the BIOS, typically right after you hear the post beep, you hit either the Del or F2 key.

    Reporting back,

Good news is I was able to resolve the issue.  Bios was fine and loaded all defaults just to be sure - thanks for the pointer on how to access.  Uninstalled driver on pc and loaded from mb install disc and no good.  Uninstalled driver again and loaded from EVGA MB Support page and no good.  I did a search for Atheros Bluetooth driver and saw one for Windows 8.1 (x64) which is my OS.  Installed and boom there was the bluetooth icon in my systray.  Got my new bluetooth mouse all hooked up and for now I am rockin and rollin.  Now, I will spend countless hours playing Skyrim.  Thanks again for your assistance and hopefully this post will assistance to anyone else who runs into this issue.

    Hello guys,

I been trying to use my PS3 controller with my PC using some software and for some reason the Bluetooth is not detected. I have a MB Z87 FTW. I been wondering about my options and tried some of the things I've seen here (the ones I been able to figure out how to do) but what puzzles me is that the BT light is not even on when the PC is running, but (here is the weird part) it turns one when I turn off the PC. Any ideas what could be wrong.

    Thanks

    I had same problem.

Solved by downloading Realtek Semiconductor Corporation bluetooth driver.

    Google for NB159H_2012.1.0712.2013.zip

I installed the bluetooth driver in the folder RTBlueR_780.780.780.1021.2013, and then I could finally connect to my bluetooth keyboard and mouse.
