First of all, sorry if this is the wrong board for this, or site even. Please point me in the right direction if need be. I've tried Reddit and Toms Hardware and so far have had no luck on figuring out what's wrong.

Yesterday I updated my Bios to version F9 (from F5) and things seem normal for the most part, temps are okay, cpu usage seems normal, etc etc. But once I get into some games (Heroes of the Storm for example) my FPS is lower than it used to be. On games I'd get 60+ fps, now seem to tank to 40-50, it's odd. Games that rely more on my CPU seem to run okay, Counter Strike: Global Offensive being one of them, but even in that I've gone from 200+ fps to 100-200ish which is still obviously okay and I don't notice it but.. I still shouldn't be dropping like this.

I've done a clean install of my GPU drivers, no dice. Made sure temps are okay. Scanned for Viruses/Malware once more. Reset mobo to optimized defaults, etc.

Please guide me, I really don't want to have to buy something new if I don't have to.

You only updated the gpu drivers and motherboard bios? If so, re-install the older gpu driver you were using before and retest the system.

I updated chipset drivers and other minor things for my mobo as well, but I'll give this a try and post again, thanks!

No dice, tried GTA drivers and the drivers before that.

Things are *playable* but I'd love the FPS I had before, and I especially want to fix what's wrong before I think about upgrading, buying the wrong part and such.

Looks like it's time to re-install older drivers and flash the motherboard bios back to f5 to see if it makes a difference.

Well, thing is, support for my i5 didn't start until f7 but my computer was running just fine. The only reason I even flashed is because I kept getting random blue screens for the past year and was sick of it. Whether or not that was the reason is still to be determined but now I'm just frustrated things are running worse.

I still have my drivers CD for the Mobo, should I pop that in or uninstall other drivers first? I'd rather avoid flashing again if I can get away with it, so y'know. I'm thinking it'd probably be wise to head over to Gigabytes forums to see what they have to say but I'll wait on some other word from you first, thank you though!

Yes, uninstall the other drivers first, reboot pc, then pop in the CD and reinstall the older ones.

Thanks, I'll head over to Gigabytes forum and explain the situation there so I know exactly what to get rid of and what other steps to take.
