RJ,  you've been using it quite a bit correct?    How has the ride been ?  You liking it much ?

I read where it's a free upgrade for W7 & W8 but are you aware the upgrade is only good for a year then needs to be renewed? I wonder what the yearly fee will be and if it includes latest version? I also think it's similar to OEM versions where it tied to a device/motherboard. 

So far I have been using it on my test bench here and I like it.  Currently my test bench is a X99 Classy and a 1st gen Titan, have tested various 980s and a TitanX on it, no complaints.  There have been a few versions that were a hot mess but those usually lasted a week or less.
I like the UI, it makes sense to me, there are some things I would like to change and that may come with time. I am running RAID 5 full UEFI and no issues whatsoever, installed fully without needing any additional drivers, of course I installed them once into Windows.  And it is still faster loading than expected even with my slow old HDDs I have on here.
I am not sure if this is the specific new W10 driver or the newest version, but I am getting crashes on benching software, but at this moment I am chalking that up to beta issues as they had worked fine before.
 
I have used Win 8/8.1 but I was not wild about the interface and the difference in speed I saw between the systems here with it and mine on W7 was a compelling enough change to reinstall (comparing similar systems....) but as soon as this hits retail, barring some horrendous launch day bug, I am installing it, I got a new SSD sitting next to my case waiting for it
 
On a completely pointless note, I LOVE some of the pics from the lock screen, some really awesome nature stuff  :)  The desert at night on an empty highway was my favorite......

Nothings free. BELIEVE IT!  Although volume licensees may receive long term support Microsoft is cooking up a slick way to make money at this Believe That Too.

IMHO, it'll be like DLC. Want Win 10 to see more memory? Buy Pro upgrade. Want Windows Media Center? Buy Ultimate upgrade. Etc... My guess is that Microsoft will use the free-to-play item mall revenue model, because nothing is truly free.

Gonna say manually sense they said its free for the first year as long as you upgrade within that first year.

If you are already working with Windows 10 and are a member of Windows Insider you need to make sure that you have chosen fast updates as mentioned in post number 15 above in order to receive new builds.
 
This newest build looks like a lot of UI tweaks and MS Edge improvements as well as some scaling improvements. The 4K bug with printing seems to be resolved.

It will be free for valid Windows 8.1 users (or users who upgraded from Windows 8 to 8.1). However software pirates won't get it for free.

Installed it yesterday, things seem to be running fine. Just Cause 2 keeps freaking out occasionally, but that's normal for that game. Some crashes in event viewer do point to "PrecisionXHooks.dll" as being the faulting module in a TDR error, but I'll have to try without it running.
 
Had a really weird, almost "poltergeist" occurrence with a repeating TDR error on boot, and all three of my monitors flashing white. Verrrry creeeepy.  
 
Went away after a reboot.

Yea you need to have Fast updates enabled. I played with windows 10 for a while off a 120GB SSD, I enjoyed it, totally upgrading my windows 7 to 10.

I've also read articles saying this is the last version of windows. If true, they have to get revenue from somewhere and they are pushing there products as service which renews yearly so it not to a stretch of the imagination. Even if that's not the gotcha maybe the "lifetime of the device" is. For sure they are in business to make money and there is a reason why it's not been made clear yet. I wonder what happens when you need to format and reload after upgrading from 7 or 8. How easy are they going to make it? What happens when you upgrade motherboards or processor. It's all pretty easy now, the worst that happens is a tedious phone call.

My main issue with the last build of W10 was that with DisplayFusion running on my 3x surround set up, when a window/app is opened initially, it would stretch across all 3 monitors, which is usually okay, I can just 'restore' it, drag it to the monitor I want it on and maximize it. Only when I would do it under the last build, it would maximize to a quarter of the screen. Wasn't an issue on the build previous to that, so I'm not entirely sure what was going on. I did submit feed back, but we'll see if the new build fixes this. Was annoying enough that I went back to my W7 install for a bit.

Microsoft tells you in the preview notes before you download the preview software that it sends system data back to them. It is a method in which they are able to see if there are any bugs or problems they need to work on. Microsoft has a huge automated testing system in place but even Microsoft can't catch every bug or problem with the hundreds and hundreds of software/hardware permutations out there.
