It is most likely an announcement for the full version of Black Mesa on Steam.  I look forward to it.

full Black Mesa for $20 Seta. I'm cool with $20 as long as the BM teams get a big chunk of that.

I purchased solely to support the devs, and i always thought HL was superior to that heap of garbage called Hl2.

I'm buying regardless. I've been playing it for free now for the last couple of years. I want to give back to those that gave their heart, soul and artistic talent to bring Black Mesa to those that love Half-Life.

I can't wait to see the differences in this new one compared to the other.
I must say I didn't expect this to come out at all.

I've kicked in $20. I played the free version and now that it's available at Steam I thought the folks who spent a lot of work on BM deserve some reward. It would be nice to know what percentage of the $20 Steam is getting. This might get them motivated to finish the game.

Looks like ill be getting this next payday. I played the unfinished BM more than a few times, HL2 is great, but BM just has a better feel to me. Be fun to finally finish BM.

Be cool if Valve would lets the BM team do HL3, I won't be holding my breath....

My only problem with the release is they did not include the extended On a Rail and Surface Tension, so it is all cut down and meh. Luckily, they will release these as workshop mods. Cutting On a Rail is a travesty of Half Life because it removes all the awesome battles between the HECU, the aliens and you, or all three at the same time.

I never played the original Half-Life, but I have played Black Mesa when it was released for free. I'm just starting the Steam version but I'm not sure what the "extended" On a Rail and Surface Tension are. Where they mods for the original game?

The original half life had a huge "On a Rail" segment with lots of puzzles and loop back that would confuse the modern gamer, so when they remade the game in this mod, they removed and heavily simplified the segment. In doing so they removed so much content, and the battles between the HECU and aliens, which gave you a sense that the military is losing slowly to the aliens, and you. It set the tone for the game's story line. "Surface Tension" was mostly included in the black mesa remake, but the extended parts are just there to flesh it out and add more gameplay to one of the best (imo) parts of the game.

Bummer ARMYguy, I've not made it through Black Mesa yet but am saddened to hear some of those segments are missing. I've played the original HL 3 times (going for a 4th) and it is to me the best shooter ever.
