Just a courtesy heads up. If you didn't have a decent sized cache already with WCG, you are probably going to be running dry or have troubles getting more work. All the people bunkering has pretty well ran WCG dry which is a pretty impressive task. The techs had not responded over the weekend but have been notified. Hopefully, they will get more work in the feeders as it is upsetting the non-challenge supporters. I honestly think the teams issuing these challenges need to do a better job at contacting the project admins and giving the heads up. The Pentathlon really didn't give users much of a heads up let alone give a project proper time to make the necessary adjustments.

So what are the most point producing projects / time on WCG? T-Minus 5 hours!

from my few tasks already sent, it seems to be pretty even between mapping cancet markers, outsmarting ebola, and uncovering genome mysteries. Haven´t tried fight aids and clean energy project this time. keepin mind that your points awarded also depend on your wingman. Do you actually still get down to a qurom of one (no wingman needed) on any project? My rigs are already set to flood their server in the mddle of the night. After that, a good junk will move on to malaria

I'm gonna mix in a little malaria control with the WCG, from what I remember MC doesn't point too well. And then Full on Einstein GPU!

It really doesn't matter how well they point as we are all gonna be getting the same points for MC and awarded points based on how we did compared to other teams running the same jobs. I'm excited to see all yall bust out then phat gpus too!! that may be the best time to try to get our folding brothers is during the gpu 5 day race.

Yo ! I have looked forward to this Pentathlon for a while, and I'm enjoying every minute of it already, however, I'd just like you to know, I'm mostly away these days due to insane reallife stuff. Nothing bad is going on, just that I have began a building project one hour drive from my home. No big stuff, just a guest house. One of my bad habits is that when I throw myself over such projects, I put ambisious goals on myself, and put every spare minute in it, until it's done. So if I'm not as present in this challenge as I use to, it has nothing to do with my engagement. By a big mistake from me, I thought for some reason that this challenge started out with Malaria. I guess I must blame it on my project lol. Anyways, I started out with Malaria, and was sure all was cool. When I realized Malaria didn't start out until the 7th, I had to stall the net connection, and hope I was able to hold on them until deadline. My calculations say yes, but only hardly. If I don't oversleep, I'll be able to plant some numbers for us on Malaria. I will also contribute with some Einsteins when the time comes. Just a few cores will deliver WCG at daily basis. I'll be back stronger next week I hope Crunch Hard Brothers

Ha Ha, thanks Mr. B. Actually, the BOINC Networking is a great idea. I have seen it, but never used it in that way. Thanks for the heads up (And good advice about breathing )

If you have a new intel tablet chances are you do too I run my surface pro 2 (i5-4200U) with 4 cpu tasks and the intel gpu 24/7.. maxes out at 80c so it buffers itself, but it can get through an Einstein BRPS in 16 minutes.

Yeah... I had a Black Friday deal on a laptop for a bit with an Intel APU and the thing ran cool the whole time with both CPU cores and the APU running BOINC 24/7. I was surprised how well it stayed cool. Paid less than $200 for it. The father in law uses it now as my job gave me a cast off that had a better CPU but no usable APU. Also, keep in mind that even a low in GPU/APU will outperform many CPU's (even modern) in both output and efficiency. I think the old nVidia 8400 GS is somewhere between a Q8200 or i7 920... Not positive as it has been a long while since looking at numbers. Check out my project list for projects that have working Intel GPU apps. http://hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=1801908

I got my i5 (4.2 GHz) and i7 (2.6 GHz) laptop chugging away at WCG. I signed up for Einstein and am already to go when the GPU part of the race starts. Definitely going to use my GTX 780 Ti for Einstein, still debating the GTX 680. The 680 has been dedicated to running nothing but Poem ever since they came out with a stable GPU app. I will probably move the i5 over to Malaria Control but leave the i7 slow poke on WCG. Its funny, I have been keeping myself to Poem (680), WCG CEPP2 (i7), Malaria control (i5), and GPU Grid (780 Ti) for a couple of months now. The Pentathlon has pretty much kept with the flow I had setup already. Just a bit of jiggling here and there. The only real big change is dropping GPU Grid for a few days for Einstein. Yes my focus is on curing diseases. I dabble in other things from time to time. Mainly to help out the team during contests or focusing on getting this or that badge.

What's scarier is even with Mr B's giant contribution we barely moved compared to Planet3DNow! In this chart we're the black line and they're red Now that's a lot of bunkering

There have also been a few reports of a large amount of pending work building up at Einstein. You may want to start hitting that with your GPU's as it isn't clear if it is people bunkering early or just something else going on. But either way, you will have some pending when the challenge starts. Just a helpful suggestion.

Congrats to Mr B with his suppa duppa rigs appearing from the shadows like a ninja :) My modest contribution today 24 tasks of WCG done on the SR-2 today. tomorrow in the mornign i will pick up some more now going to sleep with my room window full open due to heat :/ Well done guys feed your GPUs with those einstein@home tasks. I´m considering to feed my 3 unused GTX580 Classified but implies more heat and more powerbill
