I'm very disappointed! I brought my GTX 970 (04G-P4-2974-KR) on Amazon on the 15th and received it on 16th April, one day before the promotion started :( If I knew it was coming I would have waited :'(

Got my 3975 with backplate and witcher (though I rarely game) for $315 after rebate at newegg. (replaced 550ti.)

Were they purchased within the dates where the free backplates were offered? I didn't get free backplates with my $750 cards and I bought 4 of them. We aren't entitled and the company isn't required to give these out.

yes well my £600 is equal to $1100 in your money and yes one of my cards were bought within the dates specified. I dont expect anything but given how its hashed up and back tracked to cover the us market on the original promotion, then I dont think it unreasonable to think itshould of been that any 970 card bought had this offer. along with the ramgate scandal it would of sweetened the after taste. /\/\ wishes BFG was still in business!!!!!

So, because your countries money costs more than mine, my more expensive cards don't warrant a backplate? What are you saying? The dates were backtracked... No. 4/15/2015 is when this promotion started. That isn't backdated thatch the original promotion. If you bought from. An authorized retailer, within the assigned dates, then get your backplate. Like I said before, they lay out the dates and the terms.

Newegg didn't have the backplate offered when I bought my card. All it took was a quick email though and I have one on the way now.
How good are these backplates at heat dispersion anyway?

They don't really help with heat dissipation much with a single card, but when it is an SLI setup, it can help reduce the heat transfer from. The bottom card to the top almost like a hest shield on an exhaust for a car.

support is the main reason, besides aesthetics, that I use backplates. I could see my 760's starting to bow from the weight of the power cables pulling the edge of the board down. I installed the backplate, and everything is level and clean looking now. Every card I have has a backplate specifically for that reason alone.

my brother has one, it touches no components
I just received mine and thought to correct this statement; there are thermal pads on the plate which touches all memory ICs and some other areas. So it may not be just eye candy. I could not test it as system being dead for few days.
