Do you have a favorite track Beans?

Right now there all my favorite as I have next to no time to play, but working really hard to change that. My pad is a complete construction zone, I have no bathroom. I'm pretty sure the state would consider it inhabitable yet I live there. I have just been playing with a mouse here and there on Brands Hatch Indy in the AMG A45. I'll print a nice screen when I get home. Kind of stupid, I'm really excited for the game to come out and all, but I can't enjoy it for a while yet What is your favorite track/car?

I'm really into Laguna Seca, because of the corkscrew mostly. You need a decent technique for that part. Honestly haven't ran that many, trying to figure the game out. It's quite involved which is great to be able to tweak things. Rubbing is racing right? Hope I don't anger too many with my aggression. lol
I hope you get things in order so you can enjoy it, been along time coming.

Anyone else been playing it and have a favorite track or car?

This car is manageable when playing with a mouse in pro mode and no aids, although I don't recommend it. Try driving your real car when the brakes and throttle are on off switches  I have to turn the brakes down to like 80% but it's possible if you mess with the mouse settings.

Laguna Seca corkscrew is nuts! I haven't tried it yet in game. I'd like to try Spa in the rain with an F1 car just to see what it's like to take Eau Rouge flat out if I can.

I tried running a Kart race at Chesterfield, but I just can't do it with a mouse. I think it's going to be fun though with a wheel and pedals. Karts bring back some memories for me

does anybody know how many cores project cars supports? i need a new cpu because my dual-core can't handle it at all and I'm trying to see if is threaded above 4 cores to see if getting an i7 is worth getting an i5 for it right now.

edit: nvm just saw a 2500k with 2 minutes left on it and just bought it for 139.

You should be good with that price, but as a note. My 980X with hyper threading, all the cores are being used, although the first is being used the most. I think it spreads it out according to what you have.

That's great! It'll make my future build more worth it then. I hope more games come out with the ability to utilize more than 4 cores.

Is there SLI support with this game? I didn't see a driver update or anything. Going to be playing in 4K so I'll need it!

The latest Nvidia driver 350.12 adds updated support page 5 in the release notes http://us.download.nvidia.com/Windows/350.12/350.12-win8-win7-winvista-desktop-release-notes.pdf

Just a little bit about FFB. Guys on the forums are concerned about it when looking for something more, here's the deal:

1st there will be a more comprehensive guide coming out later.

2nd there are no canned effects in force feedback.
You will have a basic (relatively speaking, so don't even ask me about some of them because I don't even know myself) FFB you can setup in the options menu when you calibrate your wheel, but this is just the start. You will have the option to tune ffb for each car when you are sitting in pits. It needs to be this way because each car handles very much differently. The ffb here are handled in two ways. The first being feedback from the physics at the front spindles and the second from the body such as directional forces. So, you can see how this is car dependant. Through these many settings you will be able to achieve that feeling of road contact.

So don't freak out when you go over a curb for the first time and your wheel doesn't shake off it's mounts from a canned effect. With a little setup time I think this is a much better experience :)

Yes, the physics in the game utilize the CPU quite a bit. Fairly intensive from what I understand.

I don't think it's available in the US. You have to really want it. I pre-ordered a copy from AUS, but I think the UK may be cheaper for you.

Thank you. I tried ordering from EB Games in Aussie land but they won't ship to US. I'll check in at some UK places.

Picked this up on a preorder a day before it released on Steam. Holy crap on a crap cracker is this beautiful. I'm using an XB1 controller on it now as I don't have room for my wheel and pedal, but that'll change shortly. Until then, I'm doing the 250cc Superkarts, and sliding around like I'm on skates. Something tells me it'll be a while until I get used to this game...

Played a few races so far, very nice looking and pretty fun.
The performance is very good too, running a mix of high & ultra @ 1080p w/ DS4X & SMAA High on Dubai Autodrome GP against 19 AI I get 95-120FPS and it uses all 6 cores of my cpu (HT not used much at all).

I'm using my very old Logitech Rumblepad 2 (Left stick: Steering & Right stick Throttle/Brake).  After playing this I think it's time to get something better suited for the task... Logitech G27 perhaps?

Edit: Just finished a race with 35 AI, it started to bottleneck my 7950's (70-90% usage each). My cpu peaked at 87% on the main thread so it's the game holding them back. Still getting ~80FPS so I can't complain.

Finally released!  I stopped playing the beta awhile ago so it would be "fresh" on release day.
Having a lot of fun so far.  Graphics/atmosphere/weather are much better than some other race sims I play.
After some tweaking I think the FFB feels good too.  Check out this guide for general tips, the Deadzone Removal Range is very important (similar to Min Force setting in other games).

Only cons so far:
AI can be a little rediculous with off-track and passing attempts (I have them set a 100%).
Online - other drives appear to jump around a bit, not as fluid as iRacing for example.  Makes it hard to tell if you are going to make contact.

All this time in development and the VR part still sucks. Hopefully they can get that squared away before any of the consumer VR headsets are available.

Excellent game. Already better than crap corsa.

Played a few minutes. Fine tuning the graphic setting though at the moment. Everything max, no AA at all and I get 65, 60, 57 FPS in Spa. Really happy.

Got the best (the fourth one) open wheel Lotus, the traction breaks extremely easily. Whatthehell. Had a quick look in tuning and found traction slip. Threw it to 1% and everything was much better. Still couldn't lap Monza properly. :p Power sliding like a goat.

I am plying with a keyboard.

Absolutely no tuning needed in the formula open wheel. The category in the center when you select open wheels. It has nice grip. Set a 2.10 on bad boy Spa in one try.

I have done my fair share of karting and the kart in this breaks traction like jelly. Absolutely doesn't happen in real life. I am sorry this just doesn't happen. I press right and the whole back jellies to right.

Ha ha ha, you are a glutton for punishment my friend  A keyboard is  insanely difficult in the game. I too raced karts, so you know how twitchy and nervous they can be. I had to play with a KB/Mouse for a while and the kart was nearly impossible to drive this way. You need to modulate the brake and throttle too much. I couldn't stand it any longer and hooked up my fanatec wheel and and pedals. (Guys, side note here, FFB can really be great with a little time dialing it in. There are 37 different adjustments) So, for me it went from sucks with a mouse to wow they have the karts working pretty good now! I'll make a vid to show you. Had "0" chance to win a race with a mouse KB to won with wheel. I'll just take a few laps so you can see what it did for me. The fun factor went up by 100%

Considering the country I live in, good steering wheels are hard to find and if available, are extremely expensive.

I have never been this tempted to buy a wheel than now. I have been looking and the best available is Force GT. 199$ new. Looked in used market and pretty reasonable prices. 70$ in pretty good condition.

What makes me move away is the setup. I am not ready to go through this long procedure of setting up this setup. and the PlayStation buttons. :p

So keyboard it is. I did saw K&M option but I didn't chose it because it didn't make sense. :D

Now, I tried McLaren F1. Utter non sense. I cant believe this is how easy it is to break traction in this car. Being extremely nice and gentle with the keys is the only way to drive these monsters.

I still love the Formula 1000 (that's the name :p). Dragging it through the best track in my book. Nordschleife!. I JUST LOVE THAT!. Just need to go there in real life.

:D How do you be gentle with a KB? It's just a switch. Emagine you got in that car and just mashed the gas to the floor, that's what your KB does. Using a mouse for me was better, but it's actually harder to set it up (adjust it) then a wheel. A wheel isn't really that hard it's just knowing what to do. You don't have to fiddle with it if you don't want to, but if you do you will add realism. If you raced karts, that's way more work to set up. Sorry to hear about your situation, but if you love driving a sim a wheel is well worth it in this game. Just my opinion, but I feel like I a missing half the game by not experiencing it with the FFB and pedals. If KB is all it is though, try turning down the brake pressure and maybe the throttle sensitivity.

Well, I'm uploading my little vid for yah, but at this rate it won't be ready for another month and a half :/ Just know that with the mouse it was really really hard for me. I hadn't tried Karts with a wheel until just now when I read your post.

Looking forward to your video and what surprises it holds (for me?).

Dude, gentle as in constant tapping instead of just press and forget. Hard work. :p

I still dont get the wheel spin. I have traction control on but still they spin?. THAT DOESN'T HAPPEN IN REAL LIFE!. Does it?. Even though I haven't ever driven a vehicle with traction control but I have seen countless videos. DAMN!, even the stability control is on!.

Where is throttle sensitivity setting!?.  Granted, I haven't, still, combed trough so many settings this game has. This option will save many brain cells!.

Man, I've been waiting on this for quite some time! Time to make a little sim cockpit! I couldn't imagine playing this with a keyboard and mouse or even just a controller. It deserves far more.

+1 I raced a race last night and made a few more adjustment with the Kart and FFB upped some of the SOP (seat of the pants) I am getting some really good feedback and this is seriously fun!
check this thread out for some good advise on FFB http://forum.projectcarsgame.com/showthread.php?22938-Jack-Spade-FFB-Tweaker-Files
