Awesome thanks... that's what I'll do, I think. My first time doing any custom painting, should be fun :)

Now I just have to join the f5 warriors trying to find these things in stock

Heh. On the EU store they seem to be available (in stock) for quite some time now, I'm waiting untill I get enough money for the whole rig, by then the Titan X shroud might be out, maybe even a bundle. It's just funny that they are so much more popular in the US than in the EU... Perhaps larger stock?

All,
Just a heads up. The AIO unit will not increase your overclocks versus air unless you had like 3~4 cards sandwich stacked and they started to throttle due to heat. You would have to do some custom bios or something to get the most out of this card. Neither of my 3 Titan X's overclocked stable any further going from air to AIO. It just kept temperatures in check where it didn't throttle (and lowered the noise a lot of course).

I'm just tired of the noise in SLI when overclocked... sooooooooooooooooooo LOUD

I'm happy with 1400 MHz and don't have the guts to flash the BIOS of $2K worth of GPUs to try for more.

I would think that an AIO Unit would allow you to increase the Overclocking because you are lowing GPU Temperatures.
Is what it will Not Do is increase your Stock Clock or Boost Clock.
The EVGA GTX 980 HYBRID Stock Clocks and Boost Clocks are set the same as the GTX 980 HC model as well as the GTX 980 Classified Model.
And when the GTX Titan X HYBRID is released its Clocks will be set Higher then the NON HYBRID Cards.

This is why some like to play around with LN2. Think about it, why else would someone use LN2 to begin with. Higher Overclocking.

Hey

He's right. Lower temperature doesn't give you more OC headroom by itself. Lower temperature gives you the POSSIBILITY to increase voltage (without heat issues) to THEN increase your OC. So in a way i gues you're both right :)

My cooler comes in tomorrow.  I was going to wait to install when the backplate arrives, but that notice just came in saying it won't be here until Monday.  Guess I will have to pull the card back out next week.

Someone can correct me if i'm wrong but I don't see why it wouldn't. Considering the AIO is supposed to work with the 980 back-plate. I'd imagine the Titan X should be fine as well.

Hey,

Having the AiO installed on my titan x, i'd say YES. since the AiO has nothing going over the back of the pcb OR on the sides (which would prevent backplate installation).

Hey,

That would be debattable. Since the AiO already provides a very good cooling option, not sure the backplate will still provide a -3c temp difference.

Hi Guys. The above picture is the picture from installation for Hybrid cooler.

I was just wondering can I able to get the extension cable for that power line?

I am trying to work the Hybrid Cooler with Nvidia Reference Cooler but since that power cable is little short to work with.

So is there any place I can get that extension or what is the name of that power cable?

Hey

You're supposed to have enough room and cable to work with.

Look how i made mine. Although i must say it is very tight if you don't want to go throught the trouble of removing the stock fan assembly.

So far so awesome! Took me a few hours to get everything setup just right. Ended up going with bottom intake and things seem solid. Both GPUs idle about 2-4 degrees above ambient, and with an SP 120 in push and AF 120 in pull (fan speeds matched for very close CFM ratings - currently using 1700~/1100~ when gaming and 800~/500~ when idling. Temps in GTA 5 didn't break 48 degrees on either card (they were within 1 degree of each other at all times) at 1401 MHz core and 8000 MHz memory on stock voltage. My stock blower fan is set the same as it was on air - fan speed pretty much matches GPU temperature. 48%~ fan speed isn't anything to complain about and it helps get some of the hot air from the radiators out of the case. Temps inside the case obviously jumped a decent bit... about 10-15 degrees across the board. Haven't tested enough yet.

Was a VERY close fit on the bottom for both... the bottom card barely reached. The tube is pulled fairly taught and I had to wrestle to get it mounted. It's not too tight though, so it should be fine. I opted not to use the pre-spread TIM and applied IC Diamond. I think it helped a decent bit.

A 15 degree jump?  Did you alter your airflow with placing them in the bottom as in intake?

I considered doing something similar to this and cutting a new piece of plexiglass and installing the formed clip from the hybrid shroud to it to insure good airflow out from the fan still exists.  I was going to have a look when I removed the shroud tonight (or tomorrow) when the cooler gets here.  I would be interested in cutting a TX shroud on the side like the hybrid shroud if I could find one for sale at a decent price.  No luck with that as of yet.

I just finished the metal frame cutting and spray with black spray.

Sorry for bad quality. It is night in Australia. It looks grossy but it is matt black so it will looks just normal black color when it drys.I have cut the refernce metal fram on bottom and the side where it says "TITAN" or "GTX 980".

Of course I have used the spare cooler. Titan X cooler kept in safe. All I need is extension cable that have been order on moddiy. It is only the way by express EMS.

Cant wait to put Reference Cooler + Hybrid Cooler!!

Quick question for those of you who already have this cooler: does the pump/fan combo use up part of the power limit of the card and negatively affect your overclock by throttling your voltage to keep the card under the 110% power limit? I noticed that the stock blower fan used a few % of the power limit between 20% and 100% and was just wondering if this exacerbated the issue. If 10-15% of the power limit of the card is going to the two fans and a pump, it might be reason for me to go ahead with a BIOS flash

If 10-15% of the power limit of the card is going to the two fans and a pump, it might be reason for me to go ahead with a BIOS flash

Hey,

Well hard to say. For me, i've always used 110% power limit and actually never reached it (always 98-99%) on stock and on hybrid cooling. BUT if i put 100% power limit, i'm still @98-99% so it would be safe to assume that what you are stating is probably not the case.

Re: The Official Titan X and HYBRID Water Cooler (All in One) for GTX 980 Thread 2015/05/06 08:11:53 (permalink)
Guys my unit started to make a loud bubbling sound on startup that keeps going on for at least 30min, after a while it starts doing it again and then goes silent once more. I don't really think this is normal, anyone else with the same issue?
