I'm also excited for DX12, it should be somewhat revolutionary.

Do we have to install Windows 10 to get it?
    I really hope not.

Yes windows 10 will be required. Windows 10 will be a free upgrade for 7/8 users for the first year.

Although so far I'm not liking how they're making the OS more basic imo. Lots of advanced settings from 7 are disappearing each build.

Soon, Windows will be nothing more than Cookie Collector, just like Google, and Social Media, if Microsoft can't beat em, might as well join them.

    +1.

At this point, the only thing that is compelling me to want Win10 is DX12.  I will be dual booting with Win7 no doubt.  Win10 will be primarily for gaming from what I'm seeing so far.

Windows 10 and widespread adoption of Dx12 could be the best thing for PC gaming in close to a decade. Lowering the hardware threshold and expanding the base.

For a decade now Windows has been suffering from terminal bloat syndrome. I say gut it down to minimalist and I'll be very happy.

I really hope the devs pick up dx12. Seems like a lot of benefits, especially for multi gpu users.
