First I've heard about this also.

From my experience with MicroCenter they usually have the warranty info incorrect on most products.  It also could be one of those situations where you get x amount of time by default and then even more if you register the product with EVGA.

Hmmm, not sure how you found that. I can't find it again on the site unless I click on your link. The stickers are ugly, but the heat spreader isn't bad.

MicroCenter sent out a newsletter for sales and it has the EVGA memory in their subject line.  It certainly is surprising to see them list it even before EVGA would announce it unless they messed up on the release date. My store shows they've got 10+ in stock I'm almost tempted to go out during lunch to see.

I do agree the stickers are tacky.

My "local" Micro Center didn't show any in stock. Guess you guys lucky. Should have went with a simple logo like whats on the Chipset coolers on the Z87 and Z97 boards where it says EVGA and that's it.

I was just going to comment that they look strangely like the Ripjaws series of G.Skill memory.

$200 for 32GB of DDR3-2400 is a good price though.

Just make your own stickers and slap them on other brands.

The memory industry is already flooded with hundreds of companies selling the exact same memory chips made by one of the world's only 4 or 5 memory manufacturers. They just put different heatspreaders or stickers on them. Meh... I guess we will just add EVGA to that list.

I am thinking of launching the Grey Beard line of RAM, err EVGA, err G. Skill, err my sticker will be better, err Wizard RAM.

Seems we accept this in PSUs and others things, so why not use the equity built in the name of EVGA for other things. If it is G. Skill then good job EVGA. Will check this out for my next build if the inventories are not as low as the bridges have been lately. No Micro Centers in my area, darn!

I'm about 15 minutes away from one. Microcenter is OK they really only are good to buy Motherboards/cpu combos due to the discounted price and the combo deal they often have..other than that everything else is kinda just meh.

My local MC is a 45+ min drive and I would rather drive there than to step into a BestBuy, which is 10-15 min drive.

I got the email today and just seen this as well. Mine says 10+ in stock of both the 16GB and 8GB.

Edit: will it work in my P55 SLI motherboard?
    I think it will..

    Fair enough.

The thing I found funny -- and the reason I commented -- is that G.Skill doesn't make their own memory either. I thought it was extra funny that it appears that EVGA is rebanding G.Skill memory which is purchased from Micron or Samsung and assembled wherever. It's just a very strange chain of middle-men. But I guess there must be profit to be made by everyone. Must be a lucrative business. No wonder memory costs so much and the majority are convinced by marketing that they need way more memory than they actually need; as if more is always better and that increased latency and increased failure likelihood are ignored. (for example: 2% failure rate per module times 4 modules equals .98x.98x.98x.98 or increase from 2% failure rate up to almost 8% failure rate) (and, higher density RAM has higher latency plus higher chipset/CPU memory controller latency when you jump up from 2 modules to 4 modules)

Don't get me wrong... I like G.Skill memory a lot.

It's all about that forum signature.  8GB still is plenty of gaming and 16GB just seems to be the sweet spot these days for multi-tasking and gaming purposes.

As much as I love EVGA, this is a strange venture. The GPUs and PSUs are GREAT. Motherboards, decent as well. Haven't tried the mouse, case, or anything else yet... but memory? I don't know... that just looks ugly too. I think I'll stick to Corsair on this one.

As much as I love EVGA, this is a strange venture. The GPUs and PSUs are GREAT. Motherboards, decent as well. Haven't tried the mouse, case, or anything else yet... but memory? I don't know... that just looks ugly too. I think I'll stick to Corsair on this one.

Corsair doesn't make their own memory either. It could be identical memory with a different outside appearance. Given the extremely short list of actual memory manufacturers versus the extremely long list of memory retailers rebranding the same memory, odds are high that they do share some identical products.
