When the bios screen is up and right before windows loads A2 is displayed in the bottom right hand corner of the screen. The board doesn't have any IDE slots, so I am not sure why that is displaying.

It boots and runs fine so should I be concerned?

Also, sometimes B2 is displayed for a split second before A2, which is iMC init and I have no clue what that means or if it is important.

Edit: the board is a z97 FTW

A2 is the Bios is looking a for IDE Device.
It could be a Booting issue with a DVD in the Drive.
Or and Device that has a boot partition on it from an old os.
It could also be a SSD Drive that Has Issues.
It could also be a USB Drive, lots of device can cause A2.
For the Most part I would not bother with it unless your OS stops booting or starting up.

iMC what seem to me to be a MC=Memory Controller  and I= Initialize ... so maybe your memory controller is having issues.  I think this is on the CPU/Controller chip itself

    Thanks for your response.

Having cryptic BIOS codes that could be a half a dozens things or more makes life so nice. They finally modernized the BIOS UI, maybe now they will rework the codes so that have valid and specific meanings.

I have nothing in my DVD drive, no SSD, the only USB device is my keyboard/mouse, so it if is that I guess I can chalk it up to no big deal, unless it becomes one.

Like I said, B2 is iMC init which means nothing to me and apparently Google doesn't know either.

    Thanks again.

Are you Overclocking your CPU and Memory, Set them to the Defaults or Optimized Setting and see if you still get the B2 Code.
Did you review Post http://forums.evga.com/FindPost/2171020 a GPU was causing the B2

I guess it could be evga 960 I have an old 550ti I could try when I have the time.

Shouldn't the BIOS halt on these problems?

If you do test with the 550Ti make sure you remove all of the NVIDIA Drivers before you remove your 960.
And then the same before you remove the 550Ti NVIDIA Drivers before you put the 960 back in.
