Hey guys,

I currently have 2x Dell U2515H screens, and will be getting a 3rd next month.

They have the option to daisy chain, so that i will only need one Displayport cable running from the GPU to one screen, and the rest is of course daisy chained.

I have 2x 980 SC cards.

Since i dont have displayport cables right now to test with, before i buy a bunch, i just want to make sure this will work, and that i wont lose any performance from doing this.

Any one able to answer on this matter?

I have the same set up with a single 980sc and I could not get the daisy chain to work.

With the Dell monitors you need to enable DP1.2 in order to daisy chain them. With DP1.2 enabled I could not get the PC to boot.

EVGA sent me a bios update but that did not fix it. They said they were waiting for nvidia but that was 2 months ago.

Alright, so this may not be the case, was hoping to save on cables running back and forth, but of well, might aswell just get a single DP then, since only one of them is too short.

The monitors are DP 1.2, and support MST (Multi-stream Transport), so it should work. The key is to make sure that your cables are ones that are certified by the Displayport Group. You can find the list of certified products and cables here. Many problems with DP are caused by crappy cables

+1. I have seen so many problems with poorly manufactured DP cables.

I can get high grade cables sure. I just spoke to the company i buy cables from, and if they dont work, i can send them back, no questions asked. But my god they cost a fortune.

I have not tried yet. My 3rd monitor should arrive this week.
Then i need to buy HQ Displayport cables, and they cost a fortune. So yes, i am going to test this, but it may have to wait just a bit. Im getting 1 displayport cable, then i need to get 2 more, but because of cost, i am going to hold back with that for now.
