I've been a co-captain since AB stepped down and now, I find as my life gets busier that it is also time for me to step down.

Someone needs to fill my shoes (size 1 I think  ) and I believe there are a lot of you out there that are more than qualified for the position.  (Much more than I!).

I suggest you knock heads together and secretly or not so secretly argue a new co-captain.  I'll leave that to you.

I'll still be running the COTQ, that isn't all that intensive (but I am behind on shipping due to an illness).  However; I feel the team needs a person more able to be the cheerleader, organizer and soother of nerves.

It has been an honor being a part of this team.  I'll still be contributing as I can but I find that my health is well, less than acceptable at this moment.  (No I'm not dying but I do have more surgery ahead of me.)

I cannot thank you all enough for what you do.  You all are an inspiration and in my heart the most remarkable people I have known on line.  Your selfless devotion is not only impeccably admirable but also undaunted and determined.

I for one am proud to call you teammates.

My best regards,

Viper97 aka just Dwain

Sorry. The agreement was LIFE without any chance of change...

Oh wait. That is having kids. Wrong forum

Thanks for all you have done and will do Dwain!

And may I add... Each co-captain needs to be honest and open minded. Our group is very diverse and sometimes those that offer the most resistance are as valuable as those that are happy with anything. The only way this works is one is willing to work through what comes up, be open minded and have our community as the most important factor.

And of course I am here as will be all the other previous and current co-captains as a sounding board. We do not leave, we are just happy participants

There are two captains, one is Linuxrouter and the other another old timer.  There's a thread around here I started regarding that.

Frankly it's been one co-captain we did have another but I haven't seen, nor heard from him in a long while, baby, life, moving, job etc.

I suggest a voice nomination and a second, then a quick visual vote.  That's what was done for me.  Worked out okay.

Thanks for all you have done Viper!
And good luck on your surgeries!
If memory serves me right, the second captain is (was?) RHMash, and the second co- captain  is the Horvath/mflanaga combo.

I´d suggest either bcavanaugh and /or  Orange

Pretty much the team is self running.  About the only thing now for the captains and co-captains is to sign up for either a new project using the EVGA DC Captains as the founder or enter challenges.  Pretty much two co-captains is all you need and in reality I've been doing most of it and frankly it takes only a few minutes to do.  Really there isn't much to the paperwork side of it.

That and setting up a BOINC-wide team account will also do some of the projects for you too. It would just be up to the projects to turn that feature on.

Sorry but I will be out until the Fall this year. I do thank you for the Honor though.
But once my holiday is over I would be glad to help out what I can.

    Thanks all,
I accept, even though I don't know what job entails, my computer skills suck and I still fold a lot. I did however get my hair cut today so I can look the part. Let me know when the swearing in ceremony takes place.

Maybe there should be a sticky of who is who and how anyone/everyone can help.

I try to get the word out if a challenge is coming up and no one got the word out.
Best to not wait until the last minute. Like Bill said, I too can help out with somethings.
Yodap I a good choice as he is here often. That is important to be available when needed.

    Thanks yodap.

That is a fine idea... Whoever creates the thread, let me know I will sticky it. And frankly a few need to be removed or updated...

I am also happy with the team members who have been suggested so far for captain/co-captain: bcavnaugh, bill1024, orange, and yodap. They have all been very helpful to this team.

I also agree with Viper in that the team is able to self sustain for the most part. Every now and again a new project is launched. In those cases, it only takes a few minutes to add the team using the standard template. I think having several points of contact to help out other people on the team or new members who are just starting out with BOINC would be beneficial.

    Greetings my Brothers!
    Sorry for my absense.

Viper, why must all good Things have an end?
You have been such a fantastic Captain all my time here, a rock.

Coming home, I have been Reading up.
I am very surprised, and happy.
There are nothing I wouldn't do for my team, so to make a long story short, I Accept if that's what the team wants.
When I have Yodap, bill and bcavnaugh at my side, what could go wrong?

Yodap was the one who made me come over, bcavnaugh helped me get started, bill helpes out all the time. All figures.

Together I'm sure we can do a good job for the team.

    I will serve and protect

If the team wants me, you got me

Thanks Orange... I'm more than certain you'd make an admirable co-captain as well as Yodap, Bill and BC.  We can have two according to our original plan.

    I see:

    Orange
    Yodap
    Bill
    BC - who will assist.

I think the team needs to just come to a consensus, I'll always be here to help.  That's a promise.  And I'll still bring the swag. (I'm way to old to swagger with any authority! )

Does any one have problems with an Orange, Yodap and Bill thing?  I'm leaving BC off because he is doing an around the universe cruise and apparently off to fight Vogans.
