Hy all i have on my hadron air setup a:
GA-H81N Ultra Durable 4 Plus Technology, i choose this mobo because it has a Msata port on the mb that im using it with a 12g msata, also i have 2 2tb hd, 8gm memory (single channel) and a Core i5-4440.
Now i will buy a GPU i whant a 970 or a 960 for it i was thinking about those low profile, like this one here.

My question is that i really need a reference cooler for my gpu since i wont been doing overclock not in the cpu or gpu, my cpu is with the stock cooler as well.
Another question that i have is for my MB, the front usb port on the MB does not fit the cable, do i need a adapter for it?

I have an Asus GTX 760 in my Hadron Air, and it runs fine.
Playing WoW on high-ultra settings at 1440p I get roughly 45-60+ fps in high populated areas, and temperatures usually hover around 80-85. It's pretty toasty, but still in a decent range IMO, and the 960 is supposed to, at least from benchmarks I've seen, to have better thermal performance than the 760.

Then again, rear exhausting cards are still going to be a better bet for the Hadron in general, however, since you won't be overclocking, and the cards you've listed, you should be fine.
