I finally have enough dead LED to request an RMA for my K70 with blue backlighting. To my dismay, it is no longer in production and none will ever be available as an RMA replacement. Needless to say both Mab_III, my PC, and I are both seeing red. In order to keep my color scheme I changed out the internal lighting to red. What are your thoughts? Red or Blue? +1 votes are welcome!

    -16GB RAM.
    -GTX 1070.

You should of asked Corsair support for other choices. I have read where they have given customers a refund due to blue LED K70 no longer being made. I wouldn't accept a red LED keyboard as a replacement for Blue LED one, that is unacceptable to me.

I own the blue LED gun metal gray K70 too. This August it will be 2yrs old and out of warranty. All the LED's still work (knocks on wood).

They offered my a K95 earlier this year but I suffered a mild stroke in March and didn't get it completed. I am really miffed about it. Blue is definitely better especially against a white case. This red is hurting my eyes but it only cost me $18.98 compared to a new blue backlit keyboard.

I think I might go with white lighting. This red theme will grow on you but it's diminishing the red highlights on my motherboard and video boards. BTW, if you're not too busy don't forget to +1 my rig. Yes, I am trolling for votes.

Let's see what white looks like first. Red keyboard lights look silly against a blue case light.

I have a buddy that could fix your keyboard. He is a master in electronics. Does all kinds of Porsche LED mods. Just a mater of how much you like that keyboard.

I already ordered 50 blue LED but the K70 doesn't seem to come apart that easily hence my decision to RMA. Feel free to +1 my red themed rig. I will change to a white theme next week.

Thanks for the offer. I have worked in 2-way radio repair shops and computer manufacturing companies and am quite capable of perfoming the repairs myself but have decided on RMA.

Too much price difference and they said I didn't qualify for one although they did offer me one in February. I suffered a minor stroke, was in the hospital, and never completed the RMA process. The K70 is/was $129.99 and the K95 is $269.95!   http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16823816013

Many, many complaints about the LED controller software causing system lockups and too many LED burning out on those keyboards too.

The K70 not easy to take apart, you have two hidden screws one under the Corsair Logo the other under the volume plastic cover. Like i said earlier, you should of asked for more options and told Corsair support you do not want a red LED keyboard for replacement. I would of asked for a refund or Corsair store credit and paid the different for K70 RGB. The K95 RGB price is high. I wouldn't pay that price for it.

Just the other day Corsair updated CUE software, users have reported it has fixed most of the issues for them.

I will wait to see if Cherry MX comes out with v2 RGB switches that improve the performance of 16 million colors, see if they can do away with flickering we see.

I will just go with red for now. I won't have to clean my keycaps either! LOL  Another thing I don't like about the K95 is the bank of gaming keys to the left of QWERTY. I have limited real estate on my kitchen's breakfast bar and no room for a PC workstation desk. I only have 2 months on my warranty so IDK what I will do when the LED start dropping out on this new keyboard. It seems like it's not a matter of 'if' but 'when' the LED start to fail. I have a whole package of blue LED to use on something in the future. This keyboard was good for over a year so maybe they fixed the problem.

I see complaints about all of them even the multicolor K95. I only have 2 months of warranty left on this. If the LED go bad maybe I'll try that new Cooler Master kbd.

    I'm strictly a blue person.

About 6 months ago I noticed 3 dead leds on my Silver/Blue K70 MX Red and went to the Corsair forum to check it out and learned about the problem with the blue leds. It seems there is a problem with electrostatic discharge that affects blue leds but not red leds. The newer boards have the leds embedded in the switch to insulate it.

I'm not sure I'd waste time trying to replace blue leds considering it's a systemic problem.

My warranty ends in 3 weeks and will soon call Corsair to see what can be done. If given the option to upgrade to a RGB I might do that and hold my nose over the new logo...I'm sure I can cover it up.

I'd like to try Brown or Blue switches as the Reds are just too sensitive for my big clumsy hands. I can also just get my money back, put my old gaming Logitech back to work, and just wait and see what Corsair does next. Considering all the flak Corsair got over the blue led problem, they aught to know by now that Blue is a popular color wanted by many.

Edit_ My first choice would be a Gunmetal case, Silver and Black are nice, but Gunmetal provides a more luminous effect.

You will have push for the option to upgrade to RGB. They probably won't offer it at first. I would also try to push for prepaid shipping label. They gave me one on my K70 silver/blue keyboard due to it being second RMA.

1st keyboard died within 2days ( RMA with Amazon)
2nd keyboard LED's started dying after a month (RMA with Corsair)
3rd keyboard no issues (warranty expires in August)

Well I feel like a lucky dog.

I just got off the phone with Corsair Customer Service and they are going to replace my board with the Vengeance K70 RGB MX Brown (CH-9000093-NA) which they expect to be in stock on May 18th. My warranty would have expired by then, but because I've got a RMA # I've got my foot in the door. I just have to call them on the 18th or 19th to see if it's in, if it is we can start the Express Replacement process.

They also sent me a UPS label which is good for 30 days.

Yea, I'm getting the original logo_D

Edit _ I didn't even have to push for the upgrade, once all the other options were crossed off they suggested the RGB. The upgrade will cost me $40.00.

I got my K70 MX Brown red backlit kybd yesterday. Meh! It's OK. At least all of the LED are working for now. The Corsair logo is black anodized too so you can't even see it but at least it's the old style.

I got my K70 MX Brown red backlit kybd yesterday. Meh! It's OK. At least all of the LED are working for now. The Corsair logo is black anodized too so you can't even see it but at least it's the old style.

I have a friend who uses a red backlight board. He would have preferred blue, but he has grown to like it. Let us know how you like the brown switches.

Let us know how the  K70 RGB looks & feels .....

Will do. I'm really looking forward to playing with it as I'm a bit of an artist and love colors. I think they have worked out a lot of the software bugs, but some are complaining that it doesn't offer enough colors...like 16.8 options are not enough.

I prefer the MX Brown switches over the MX Red. The red are too sensitive for me. The fingertips on my right hand are numb since my stroke last month. The Brown switches will lose some tension after a while and be as loose as the Red switches anyway. This new keyboard has a bad reaction to caffeine. I spilled some coffee on the corner and the 'Ctrl' key spazzed out for a while. Some compressed air fixed it right up and everything is good again.

You don't have to push hard at all, just let them know other options won't make you happy. Long as you stay polite with them on the phone they will do everything they can to take care of you.
