My buddy has a slight issue with his cpu , he said he added a bit too much voltage and now it's stuck in the socket.  It's in a Rampage IV Black Edition ( no pun intended ) I removed the Koolance CPU-370 waterblock , there appears to be some slight water damage and a small hole in the chip but we're thinking if we can get it out then use a small bit of liquid metal (to fill the hole) and a file to level things and out it should be fine.

What do you guys think ? Any chance we can save her ?

Yea we kinda figured that , things been kinda serious around here lately so we thought why not try some humor

It was actually in a fire ( house totally destroyed ) we were shocked to still see the numbers on the chip , here's a shot of what was left of his computer

Household insurance should cover this provided there is coverage and the deductible isn't too bad.

The fire was about 8 months ago so all is well , he was fully insured and no one was hurt .    It was his idea for me to post the pics for a laugh , I was gonna send in the cards to evga for an rma as a joke but they fell off the waterblocks before I could get them home.

You should talk to Asus about an RMA on the board, there should be protection against those issues.  I mean, they did put thermal armor on the sabertooth boards to prevent against heat.. lol.

That is a good idea.....  .....  ....  .....  I don't think it worked.  How did the fire start or was it determined?
I would rub some sand in it, that usually works for me. Well, on injuries anyway.

Have you tried turning it off and back on again?

Yes we did ( it was our first thought too ) but to no avail ... it did not work.

I wonder why it was moved from the "loonie bin" section   Oh well , no worries .... jokes don't always land where you like

This is fantastic.  Poor computer and poor house.  From the first pic, I thought this would have been from flooding - the block has a corroded feel to it.
