8MB of L3 cache again?  We've had this on top-model quad-cores since 45nm Bloomfield, but avoidance of the cannibalization of the X99 platform could be a consideration, as if a 4GHz Skylake quad will help...

What's with the choice of IGP, HD5000 is a Haswell branding, GT3 w/o eDRAM, 40-eu at 1100MHz.  It would have made sense to follow the past few trends and have the mainstream flagship desktop processor take half the flagship IGP, or 36-eu at 1350MHz and be branded HD7000, making the flagship HD8200 Pro.  I assume it will be tweaked to run DX12 and not the DX11.1 it is defaulted to.  But hey, if this is a rumor, at least we can see discrepancies.

For Intel processors, 0.122 x TDP = Continuous Amps at 12v [source].

Edit; never mind, was thinking of Broadwell for some reason.

I'm excited to see how these perform.

I can see these being enough of a performance gain over Sandy Bridge for people to upgrade to Skylake but the chipset features are what is really impressive in comparison to the former, as opposed to IPC.
