updating bios on x79 dark

Hey guys I wanted to know how to upgrade my bios 1 and 2 so it will run Ivy bridge E processor on them so I don't have to uses bios 3

    You can simply move the selector switch while in windows or with it powered off. I always leave one bios position stock so I can revert back to plain jane settings if thing go bad in my overclocking or the bios update is worse then stock. The bios will be stock in the new position if you have never used it before, so you might have to do a DOS update with a mem drive if you need something newer.

    Ok I will give it a shot I have also read that you can do it in the bios and just change the switch

    FWIW, I installed a 4820k in my dark and didnt have to change jumper or update BIOS at all to get it booting.  The flashed bios at time of purchase was 2.09, I didn't flash 2.13 until After I had installed windows.
