850w PSU
Brand new board, cpu, and PSU.
Of note, last week I had a totally different mobo/cpu/psu, I stood up to get something and accidentally tripped over my front panel USB cord plugged in. MY PC shut down, and never powered back up. I wasn't getting anything to post on the old mobo, so I assumed that I fried that motherboard.
Took this as an opportunity to upgrade my 6 year old PC, bought this mobo specifically because of it's ability to use intel's RST which I had on my previous rig, and because of it's onboard LED's diagnostic capabilities and onboard power switch in case I somehow broke my case switch.
So I got the new Mobo/CPU Plugged it into my old power supply (I had tested it with a cheap PSU tester that was lighting up green), Saw the green power button LED light up on board. Pressed the button....nothing. Hit the case switch....Nothing. All it does is continue to flash green, no other lights.
I started to think it might be the PSU after all, so I bought a brand new 850w one, with a fancy LCD tester to test the voltage. The weird thing is that the old PSU tested within normal limits for voltage, but the fan on it doesn't spin. I figured that was causing the problem somehow, and the new PSU voltage was fine AND the fan was spinning. So I plugged it back into the new mobo/cpu. Checked all my connectors. Saw the green button flashing...hit it...NOTHING.
I've checked the 24-pin connector and it's fully seated. I have one 8-pin CPU plugged into the board, left the other one with the optional sticker still on it.
I don't know what to do now and i'm reaching my wits end on this one...any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
