After just dropping 1K on a Titan-X sc'ed, i figured i needed to pair it with a 4K monitor and make the jump up from 1080p.

Since almost all? hdtv in 4K only handle 4K/60 through hdmi, my thinking was to get a 4K LED for my den.

Here's the LED, as it has G-sync and from what it seems it's the only 4K with G-sync currently on the market.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA24G2HZ2690&SortField=0&SummaryType=0&PageSize=10&SelectedRating=-1&VideoOnlyMark=False&IsFeedbackTab=true#scrollFullInfo

Is this a good choice or am i missing a better 4K with G-sync monitor?

btw: If i get 35-40fps in 4K does the smoothness really feel like 60fps as many have said? If not i'd have to go SLI and i'm not one
for micro-stutturing in my games.

I have this monitor as well.  I picked it up at Costco (Last one on display) for $425.00.  This is an AMAZING monitor.  I wouldn't worry about the lack of G-Sync.  It runs great with only 1 ms response time.  4k is stunning.  The only thing you need to do, is turn the response time to "faster" to get rid of any ghosting.

The only downfall of this monitor is the fact that the stand isn't to awesome.  Also it does not have a VESA mount hookup slot

But I guarantee that other monitor is not worth spending $300+ extra dollars

I'm hearing great things about that Samsung.

But isn't gsync worth the $300?

Personally i really aim for 60fps..locked, and it seems g-sync would do the same trick in say 40fps.

And i don't like to go SLI as it has too many issues.

    Thanks for the reply back.

How is dropping down from 4K to 1440p with that monitor? As far as image quality.

Honestly, even when the monitor drops under 60 FPS (even into low 40's), it is silky smooth.  For real

if you want 60fps locked in or better in modern games at 4k you gotta have SLI.  If that's a must you should go with a 1440p/1600p monitor.  Personally i've played on 1440p for nearly 2 years now and at 27"-30" the 1080p to 1440p jump was remarkable as far as image quality difference.  Now with 1440p to 2160p in the 27"-30" range you really need to start looking to see the differences.  Personally I would go with a much higher quality 1440p screen at 100-140fps possibilities with a incredible stand and color reproduction over a lower end 4k screen you will be fighting with to get 45-60fps consistently.  No matter how smooth some say the monitors are at a lower fps it's still 40-50 fps not 60 and we all know how that looks.  Just my 2 cents if you are avoiding SLI.

LOL - I just bought that monitor!

    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824009658&utm_medium=Email&utm_source=EXPRESS041815&nm_mc=EMC-EXPRESS041815&cm_mmc=EMC-EXPRESS041815-_-EMC-041815-index-_-LCDLEDMonitors-_-24009658-S1A1A

For $150.00 Extra its totally worth it

At least do what RJohnson said and get that promo applied.

I have owned this monitor twice now, for about 3 months total. First one got sent back because I disliked the build quality and wasn't sure if I wanted to keep it. Then I tried another 4K monitor, and realized yet again IT IS HARD TO LIVE WITHOUT G-SYNC. You NEED it with one card. I have two TITAN X's, and even that struggles to keep 60 FPS sometimes. I paid $500 for a refurb and it is fine functionally, but has cosmetic blemishes. It is probably going back AGAIN though.

TN monitors are awful. They look hideous. There is no way around that. My 32" 4K BenQ IPS kills it in visual fidelity, but at times playing without G-Sync is a bit of a bummer. It's a battle of smoothness versus beauty. Games look a million times better at 32" and IPS, plus the screen is brighter. The Acer plays well, but just looks plain bad. I was going to use it just until the 27" ASUS IPS 4K G-Sync came out, but 27" is far too small to go back to once you get used to 32". 4K looks so much better, and everything is more immersive. 27" is too small for 4K.

Once you go IPS you can't go back! It's more than the brightness.. it's color reproduction.  TN's just cant generate the same colors.   Also have to agree on the sizes.  You won't see the differences of 4k over WQHD till you get into the 30's"   That BenQ has to be a beauty!  I'm jealous.

Yeah that was the one thing about the ASUS IPS 4k G-sync, seems almost perfect, but when I went from a 30" 2560x1600 to my current 28" 4k monitor, the loss of size was a big trade off, Ideally I would want the upcoming Asus, but in 32" It seems that there are no 32" G-sync monitors out there or planned yet :/
