Woot Woot. Served in the U.S.A.F. Myself, don't regret 1 minute. Well maybe on the first day at 2 AM the drill SGT in my face while I was standing on a ant hill with ants crawling up my legs. Yelling at me to keep still at Lackland AFB San Antonio Texas. When I was there BMT was only six weeks. Congratulations. You'll meet some great people and build a whole new family, sorta of speak.

I hope this  isn't an April Fools Day joke.  If not, Congrats man.  I served 6 fears in the USAF.  My most proud accomplishment.  I has brought me to where I am today and I still have a love for country and all service members that will never waiver.

I served 20 years in the armed forces and retired as a MSgt. I have a monthly retirement income until my death. I was able to visit places around the world I could never have visited otherwise. Serving my country was a great honor and privilege.

    You are So Very Wrong.
You have no Honor in Serving your Country or Self Sacrifice for your Fellow Countrymen.

Of my 20 years 11 were spent in West Germany @ that time and was the best time of my life.
I was in Stuttgart at the time the Wall Came down then on to SWA for 6 Months.
Not once did I feel that I was in Jail. PLDC was Close and Drill Sergeant School was rough but never like being in Jail.

You still very much have freedoms in the service, if you liken it to being in jail then you did something wrong.  I look forward to taking advantage of everything they offer to tour the world.  Regardless of what happens at least i know i won't end up in the state of indiana as there are no active duty bases here \o/

Wish I could just show you how untrue your post is... You get your stuff back right after BMT in the USAF and then go to tech school it's pretty much like college... Then you get your first base, and from there you basically work a 9-5 and have a normal life...

Have fun at Lackland for BMT buddy! It sucks that they (I believe they already did) have gotten rid of the graduation ceremony (big graduation ceremony)... Beast week is a blast as well!

joining the military was the best decision I made.  They paid for all of my school and helped me grow up a bit too.  Made me a better husband, father, citizen, neighbor, a better man.

While you are in, do one thing every day to better yourself physically and professionally.  You will be pleased at how far you get after just a few short years.

I retire next year with 21 years in the Navy.  E-1 to O-4 with two masters degrees I never paid a cent for.

In other words, keep your foot on the gas and take full advantage of everything your service offers you.
