More than 90% of card issues are end users and old hardware.
Going from an AMD to a NVDIA also causes problems.
Download and store the current NVIDIA Driver on your Local Hard Drive.
Before you removed your AMD Graphics Card did you remove ALL the
AMD Drivers and
AMD Software from your computer?
Restart your Computer and allow your OS to install the Standard VGA Graphics Card Driver.
Update your
Motherboard's Bios, current version is 2.80 7/23/2013
Reset your Bios back to the Default or Optimized Settings.
Shut Down and remove your Power Cable from your Computer, let sit for 3 to 5 minutes *Per AMD.
Remove the AMD Graphics Card.
Install the EVGA GTX 980 FTW Edition Graphics Card into the Slot next to the CPU.
Plug in your Power Cable and turn on your Computer.
Allow your computer to settle down and if you are asked to restart your computer Please restart your computer.
After 4 or 5 minutes Restart Your Computer One More Time. Do Not Allow Windows Update to install the Drivers.
OK Driver Install Time;
Disable or turn off your Virus Software.
Right Click on the Driver File that you Downloaded and Select "Run as administrator"
Click on the Green "Agree and Continue" Button
Click Custom (Advanced)
Click the Green Next Button
Un-Check ALL but "Graphics Driver" and "PhysX System Software"
Check "Perform a clean installation"
Click the Green Next Button.
Click Restart Button once completed.
