Hi All,
I have looked everywhere on this one and not come up with anything like what I am experiencing. I have a 780i board with Q9450 that I need to get working for a LAN party on 11th April! I have had the board since new, it has never been clocked or damaged, I retired it over a year ago to a cupboard in a static bag and got it out a couple of weeks back, in that time neither the processor nor the ram was removed from the board.
Anyhow, when I originally got it back together I had some RAM issues, so I am down to one stick and that appears OK with no error codes etc.
So the "Problem", computer posts fine, recognises everything no problem, no warnings or anything. I hit delete to get into the bios settings so that I can turn off the Floppy Drive and get it to boot through usb for installing some Win7, the problem is I can only stay in the bios screen for approximately a minute and then it freezes on me, screen stays but keyboard dead, also keyboard lights off. I have reset CMOS jumper properly but this makes little difference. I have not flashed the bios since I retired the motherboard and it was working prior to this.
Please help, it has been years since I have been to a LAN and I really do not want to miss it!
I have never sought this kind of help before so anything extra you need please ask, but obviously I am going to struggle getting specs of the running pc because it does not run for long enough!
Massive thanks in advance for any help any of you can give me.
All the best
Tim.
