Checking to see if anyone knows the answer. I got an Amazon gift card from my work. If I use it, does it have to be an item purchased from Amazon directly, or can I still use it if I order it from another company through Amazon's web site?

    Since it say's it goes into my account, I would imagine I can use it to buy from another company on Amazon. Still not 100% sure though. Probably need someone who has actually done this to answer my question I guess.

    If you can't find the information you want, i would use amazon live chat support. you can talk to an agent within 3mins any time of day or night.

    Based on how I have purchased things in Amazon before, the gift card should work with any Amazon site retailers, as the payment and adjudication process is all run through an Amazon payment engine.  If you were not on the Amazon site, then you would not be able to.  I have used my Amazon store card to purchase things for retailers that were not Amazon before, so I think this no different.

    You can use it with anything they have on Amazon. I've done it personally.
