Funning but the only way I can get Core 17 Projects on my Titan is to set the client-type to beta.
If I set it to advanced all I get are ZETA_DEV or Core 18 projects. I wanted to run at least one P9411 on my Titan.

Removed client-type altogether from my Titan Rig and received a Core 17 P9411.
Will post status after it hits 10%.

Are you not ever getting Core 15 Projects?

I must have hit a lucky streak when I added the Beta flag which sadly has now ended, finishing off a core 15 now (7626).
I took the overclock off, it is up at 70C and the coils are whining and all for 76102 PPD.

Got a shiny new 970FTW coming so I can have some fun with these wu's. My 760's were only getting about 60k PPD each on them. So the 970 will be a nice big upgrade over them. Now if anyone feels so inclined you can go ahead and send me 2 more so I can max out my folding effort.

Installed my new 970FTW v1 tonight out of the box running 1404MHz with some browsing and my son playing some flash games I'm at 4 min 36sec TPF and 252k PPD. It was at 260K PPD before I started and stopped the client a couple times. Hopefully I can get some other issues figured out and run the 970 with my 760's for a day or two. Then the 970 goes under water for some oc'ing fun and folding/crunching glory.

It blows my mind that one generation newer and one step up is around 3 1/2 times the points. My 760's on the same units are only good for 70kppd. I ran 3dmark fire strik earlier and the single 970 was only 2800 points below my tri SLI 760's.

"970 was only 2800 points below my tri SLI 760's." that is really good, remember that they also take a lot less power or Wattage now as well.

Like the plague. I am getting to where I do no not care about folding. I thought these were wearing down in number but they are as prevalent/pervasive as 17s and 18s. WTH?

Hi guys. After having updated my 980's SC driver to 347.88 my PPD for Core 17 p9411 WUs has dratically got down to around 290k vs 340k I used to get.
Are you experiencing the same problem??

I'm using the same driver, I didn't notice a drop when I updated to it.
I'm folding a core 18 at the moment, when I get a 9411 I'll compare PPD.

Are you only seeing this on one or two tasks or all tasks that you are seeing under P9411?
Did you do a Clean Install of the Drivers or did you just update the drivers?

It topped out at 305k PPD before I paused it for a bit. And this overclock is on the regular FTW bios. I forgot to flip to the OC bios when I put the block and back plate on. So now I've got to pull the GPU out to remove the back plate. So when I get around to getting another 970 I'll flip the switch.

If I am about I fold at 1530Mhz, if I am at the PC it will fold with no errors at 1600Mhz, if it is unattended I run it at stock clocks in case it gets a core 15 as it is air cooled (all at stock volts).
So you would be unlucky if you can't get at least that high.
At the moment it is at stock, 66C,  336K PPD folding a  core 18 project 10476.

Re: New Core 17 Project P9411 2015/03/23 00:15:58 (permalink)
It is a 980, I'm finishing off another 10476 now, I'll remove the flag and see if I pick a 9411 up to check, from memory it is around 380K overclocked. Not a lot of point comparing different cores.
Having said that, the odd thing is when I first put the beta flag on I was getting core 18 that didn't pause every couple of minutes like the core 17 does, you know the one second or so pause.
These were good for over 400K PPD, I haven't had one of those for some weeks now.  I think they were around 380K PPD and scraped over 400K at 1600 Mhz.
The 18s I get now act just like a 17 and are giving very similar PPD.
Edit:
Ouch !
I just got my 1st Core 15 in ages, that flag is already back on and my card went back to stock clocks before it started, already up to 72C and it is 2% in. Whining away like a it is being abused, which I suppose it is, poor thing.
Edit 2:
9411 at stock clocks,  347.88 driver,  84% completed,  estimated credit 88980, estimated PPD 331375,  temp = 66C

I just fired up all my 980's and got them folding, as I actually have every GPU folding.  Getting a consistent 331,000 +- with the 9411 tasks.  This is without an overclock, just has factory OC, as all my 980's are the SC version.  Rigs are running at around 500 watt.  That is nice and low given all the folding the GPU is doing.  These cards are very efficient.

I think I've only seen the 9401s still, I definitely haven't seen 300k+ on my 980 yet.

I look forward to it though.

That and an extra 980 and maybe hybrid coolers for that nice quiet system.

Thoughts?

Replaced 2 GTX 780 Hydro Coppers with 2 GTX 980 Hydro Coppers and the power usage has dropped.
Have two more of the 980s on the way for my other rig that currently has a Titan Signature Hydro Copper in it.
A long time very good friend will get the Titan for his folding rig on his birthday, he folds for the team I left after over 8 years of folding with them.

Copy that! I have two 780s folding and crunching and they put off a ton more heat than my GTX 980!
It boils down to Kepler vs Maxwell. The 980 is so much more efficient. Same with the 970.
