Thing is you don't NEED to pay to get most of these things. They are obtainable via in-game mechanics and virtual transactions. Remember, we're also talking about a game that isn't even out yet.

How's Nvidia physics play apart in combat/navigation? And anyone playing with a AMD GPU/APU and how no physics affects combat/navigation?

Yes, Dave Ill give it another chance...

Here you go. Gives a bit more insight. This was pulled from PC Games Hardware.de

Hey Fellas!

How are you all enjoying the new landing system? I find manual is definitely quicker once you learn to control your ships well. Although I have a HOTAS, which for me, makes things so much simpler.

Great to be back. Thank you, good Sir -- and you are more than welcome. Hopefully they fix the connection issues for multiplayer. Been trying to do a co-op free flight to see if my buddy can get in my Cutlass.

I have seen several videos of Chris Roberts doing so, and bouncing off everything in sight, to be fair, he didn't do any better with a joystick, HOTAS or mouse form the videos I have seen.  But, it IS supported.

I am indeed. Thanks, Dave!!

For me, a joystick is best for smooth clean yaw and pitch. But I can get by with mouse and keyboard for simple flying and landing.
I'm working with a new X55 mapping profile. Not completely happy with it...still sorting out key and function placement across all the buttons and doohickeys.

Cordless 360 controller is just better when I'm standing. I want a HOTAS at a future point, but not sure about using a hotas standing?

Knight. I know I could use my X55 Rhino while standing. No problem. The price is the factor. Regardless, I saw an excellent video review of the X52, X55 and the Warthog. Warthog looks like the king. But it's more expensive and has no twist on the joystick, which I use for yaw (some use if for roll). However, I hear you can map yaw or roll to other inputs, which are just as reliable.

X55 is $200, I'd rather spend another $200 and get the Warthog, and just use the 360 for now. $200 for that X55 doesn't seem worth it...

I have both an XBOX 360 controller and a Thrustmaster Warthog/Saitek rudder pedals setup for my gaming. Not hard to jump between console controller and HOTAS. The Warthog is a substantial piece of equipment. The metal stick and the weight of the throttle quadrant makes it feel like a real HOTAS.

SC videos yay. This is me doing some incredibly quick and sloppy video editing.  I just stitched a few scenes together. Didn't want to spend too much time editing this weekend. New content in Dirty Bomb, Warframe and Star Citizen. So I just wanted to play.

Still getting used to this new HOTAS profile.

Playing w/ IFCS in Combat: You can see me spin around to face attacker and fly backwards while I try to get a missile lock and take em out while flying in reverse. To stay moving along your flight trajectory while facing a different direction...you have to turn off or decouple intelligent flight control system (IFCS).

3rd Person Flying landing and Ship Tour:
You can see SweetFx enhancement much better in this video.

Thanks RJ!
Much appreciated. The game is surprisingly entertaining even at this early stage. The attention to detail helps tremendously.

I'm really liking the detail in the Cutlass. Finally, everything is getting interactive use interfacing.

You know I am embarrassed to say...

I fly the Cutlass or the M50 out and hover over a landing pad. Position the camera just under so I can watch the intricate animation of the landing gear deploying and retracting. SIGH! again embarrassed to say how long I did that...

I love my m50, its so nimble. I will just blast away taking down the targets shield, speed past them drift around and get a clear cockpit shot. I am sure my hornet will be better at actual space combat, but these little arena's are so fund with the m50.

I'm not a fan of the older aegis design. Currently waiting for more Anvil ships. bring out the modern age light carrier/destroyers.

Hmmmm sounds like lots of fun, nimble ships can be so very entertaining, I love my Hornet, but I would love to try an M50 on for size.

Any chance of EVGA opening up a SC server? I think it would be fun to open one up a temp server for competitions and such.

I really don't know, and that is not something I am involved in, sorry.  I can speak with the people who are, but I doubt you would see any movement on this until it is in Beta at least and likely at/after launch.

@ I'm HIT!
Hmmm can't wait to watch those!

Last time I played SC, which was a couple weeks ago, what I was doing was running the racetrack, well lit and lots of turning so I could REALLY get used to all of the nuances of tight maneuvering, while I have played TONS of sims over the years, most were non-physics based and as such handled VERY differently.  But running my Hornet there it was nimble and a lot of fun, and REALLY making me see the limitations of my VERY  old joystick.
