That is a pretty incoherent title. 2560x1080, 3440x1440 and 4096x2160 are all 21:9. Both 1920x1080 and 2560x1080 are 1080p. Both 4096x2160 and 3840x2160 are 4k. I think they mean 1920x1080 vs. 3440x1440 vs. 3840x2160...

What ! You mean my poor pair of 760's cannot do 4k ? 5760x1080 is no problem with them & my i5 4670k . Couldn't afford it anyways...

GPUs could process 4k since DX9 was released. DX9 is capable of 4096x4096. DX10 bumped it up to 8192x8192, DX11 bumped it up to 16kx16k. Just as long as the port could push the pixels. Until recently that meant only DP was good enough to do it though. HDMI is slowly catching up.

Eh, use what you like. Don't sweat the internet PC police. I've always been of the mindset that people vastly overestimate the merit of telling the world their opinion to random strangers as though it matters in the grand scheme of things.

I use a 34UM95 and found the experience to be incredible. My only, and I mean ONLY grope with it is that I'm so accustomed to playing on 144hz, that I legitimately miss the smoothness of my BenQ monitor. Outside of that, the field of view is enourmous at 3.5-4 feet distance. And since the pixel count is drastically lower than 4k - it means my single 980 pushes it flawlessly. Its actually fewer pixels than my 15" rMBP. but the width is fantastic in pretty much every situation.

The key in all of this is having a GPU that can push the pixels regardless of the display. That'll be the ultimate thing that makes or breaks the experience.

What Delivers the Best Gaming Experience? Better Game Optimization. We have done our parts. We already bought expensive hardware. The problem is not on ours anymore, It's on the developers side. They suck at optimizing their game. People just want a high FPS to have a smooth gameplay.
