chosin pg 18 of the manual tell you how to clear the cmos. no worries on helping. The bottom slot is a pci x slot. Moving card might not work but its worth the try to check card. when clear the cmos all graphics setting will return to normal
You only have Two PCIe Slots, the other Two Slots in the Middle are PCI. DO NOT FORCE YOUR CARD INTO A PCI SLOT. PCI Slots are Really OLD By the way, I mean they are not as old as ISA Slots but still on a Z97 Chipset Motherboard.
i hate that they dont have their own forums and yes their support is very shotty. but this problem is something strange.

Ok, so I moved the video card down to the bottom PCI Express slot. When loaded I got no picture at all. I turned it off then plugged the vga into the motherboard and got no picture at all. I then removed the video card completely and booted with the VGA connected to the motherboard. I checked BIOS and made sure PCIE was selected. There is a difference now however. Botted up without a card plugged in, my Device Manager is more precise. Instead of just saying "Integrated Graphic Device", It nows shows " Intel(r) HD Graphics 4600. So Im wondering now that I see that...Should I disable it through device manager and then reboot with the card plugged in?

joshuadgordon Well, I am almost certain the card works as I sent back the first one thinking it was a broken and just received this new one today. But my Geforce GT 610 works with it so it supports Nvidia right?
Just because you received your new GPU today doesn't mean it works 100%. You need to test the card in another machine to verify if it works or if it's broken as it's clearly not working in your system. If you don't have another machine to test the card in you should take it to your local computer repair shop to have it tested.

I understand this, it is a persistent problem across two of the same type of video cards so I am trying to fix other possible issues. We have asked the question if the Card is compatible and it seems very hard to find any information confirming that it is, or that it isnt. I will try the card on another computer when I have the chance but that is not a possibility tonight. I appreciate everyone helping me through these fixes as I can not find much information for problems with the gtx 960.

Another update, Just set the card in a friends computer and he had the same result, even tho plugged into the video card, it displayed "Integrated graphic device".... So do I talk to EVGA again and tell them that the part they sent as a replacement is having the same issue?

I would put in that ticket with asrock, also put one in with evga. If you still have your old card or another card maybe borrow yours friends card to test the slot. Its the only thing i can think of.

So my GT 610 works, I know it is an older card but that should confirm that the PCI Express slot is not the problem correct? I am currently talking to an EVGA support technician.

I am now talking to someone from ASRock as well. I really just dont want to have to send the motherboard back as well as I will be without a working machine. Could it still be a problem with the motherboard even tho the PCI express is working with another card?

If I understand you correctly, your monitor is connected to you GTX 960 and you get a display, but you cannot install the nvidia drivers. If that is correct your video card works and your display is not being run off the Intel on die GPU. It is strange that the card is not immediately recognized and asking for a driver. Have you tried windows update to see if it recognizes your Nvidia card and installs a driver? Not the preferred method to install a driver but worth a shot. Reinstall the 610 and install the latest drivers, remove the card without uninstalling the drivers and install the 960, or use DDU to uninstall your old drivers, that will clean all the registry files that are sometimes left behind.

I will try this with my old card as I will try anything to make this work. Could you explain to me what you mean by DDU?

its a program that deletes left over files from uninstaller/installer found here http://www.guru3d.com/files-details/display-driver-uninstaller-download.html . Its loaded into windows. The program will reboot PC into safe mode and removed all Nvidia files. make sure you tell it to remove Nvidia file only. What did tech support tell you to do?

His card isn't being recognized inside the BIOS. Running DDU isn't going to help his problem.

So far the EVGA support has been asking me similar questions to what we have gone through here, and I am now to this point with them "Could you try confirming from Gigabyte that your motherboard is fully compatible with 900 series graphics cards and support UEFI BIOS graphics cards? If you are continuing to have issues in multiple systems that do support later generation graphics cards, we can set up another RMA to get you a replacement. " The Gigabyte Mobo mentioned is the one from my friends computer which Im not sure if it is compatible . ( GIGABYTE GA-78LMT-USB3 AM3+ AMD 760G + SB710 HDMI USB 3.0 Micro ATX AMD Motherboard) If this MOBo isnt compatible with my gtx 960 then testing it on his computer didnt really prove it is the card or not. ASRock has not sent a second response yet but I asked for them to confirm the comparability of the card and motherboard.

Here is the facts the graphics card should give you a display no matter what as soon as you turn it on with monitor on and plugged into it. the drivers don't come into play until windows is loaded. I think you should RMA. Another thing is a bad power supply could cause it malfunction. It does happen from time to time.

So I am now at the point where I cannot RMA my motherboard because I waited so long for the RMA of my video card... and the ASRock support is almost useless in their attempts to help... I am considering getting another motherboard entirely but that is more money and I am not exactly overflowing with it.. could anyone help me with some gtx 960 compatible motherboards, here are my specs ( I do not want an ASRock board after this experience) OS : Windows 8.1 CPU: i5-4690 3.5 GHZ 6mb cache LGA1150 GPU: EVGA GEFORCE GTX 960 RAM: 8gb DDR3 Power supply :750 watt Corsair CX750M Here are two I am looking at, these are about my max price range. newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128714 newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813130770
