I didn't felt nothing with SuperNOVA 1200 P2 or any other PSU.
Only when I installed Seasonic X-750 before several years first time, in first 2-3h I felt little smell as paint or something similar,
but nothing didn't burned. On any other PSU I didn't felt nothing.
    How do you mean "smell"?
On new, on plastic, on burned?

If it's new then it may smell a bit. It's kind of burn-in smell but should disappear during the time.

I never felt burning smell from PSU, only smell of paint from X-750.
But that PSU was really hot always and fan profile wasn't nicest.
If he feel some kind of burn smell than should remove PSU out of case and check that with someone who know.

Well I'm not talking about burning smell but about the smell when PSU is in burn-in phase :) Every new component smells a bit if new and get hot, this is normal. Of course if it is like something is burning then it's definitely bad.

If your Eye's are tearing up then it is a Gas or Chemical Vapor.
Does it smell like an electrical burn smell like when a capacitor burns/shorts out?
