Hello, I just recently upgraded a few components in my computer including an EVGA GEFORCE GTX 960 video card. All parts of the computer are working except for the video card ( EVGA GEFORCE GTX 960 ). I upgraded my motherboard to an ASRock z97m Pro4, my cpu to an i5-4690 3.5 GHZ 6mb cache LGA1150, and my power supply to a 750 watt Corsair CX750M. The odd thing is I am on the computer now, and the video is plugged into the video card via DVI and is working however it is using the integrated graphics and does not see the video card at all. I have tried re seating the card and have checked the power connections on both the power supply and the card itself. I have attempted to install drivers via the geforce experience where I was prompted for a Game ready update but it fails. I then downloaded the latest driver from the EVGA website which also fails I believe as the video card isnt even being recognized. It is installed in the PCI express port closest to the cpu.
I have now received the video card back from EVGA after sending in to be repaired/replaced. I am having the same problem as I did then with no noticeable differences. The motherboard recognizes other graphics cards so I dont think the PCI express slot is the problem. How could I see if the power supply is providing enough power. Its a 750w power supply which should be more than enough. Again it is plugged into the video card DVI yet is running on integrated graphics.

    What OS?
Disable the "integrated graphics" in the Bios and then power down you PC.
Unplug the power to the PSU and your Monitor for 3 or 4 minutes.
Make sure that the Video Cable is plugged into the GTX 960 before you power everything back up.
    1) The Monitor 2) The Computer

What Driver Version was installed before you installed the new Card?
What Card did you have installed before you install the GTX 960?
Is the Bios up to date on your Motherboard to support this new GPU?

1.61 2/24/2015 Instant Flash 5.50MB Improve power consumption. USA

It may also help to format your post it is a little hard to break down.

This is what we need to know "I have now received the video card back from EVGA after sending in to be repaired/replaced."

With this did the first card not work so you sent it in and the replacement card is also not working?

My OS is Windows 8.1. I have tried to disable the integrated graphics, but I only see options to switch between the onboard, pci express, and pci. It is set to Pci express but does this mean the onboard graphics are still enabled?
I had a Geforce GT 610 with the most up to date drivers installed. I uninstalled these before putting in any of the new components including the video card.

You need to re-enable your PCIe Slots, the integrated graphics is in a different area in your Bios.
    You should select "PCI Express"

    This makes no sense?
"The odd thing is I am on the computer now, and the video is plugged into the video card via DVI and is working however it is using the integrated graphics and does not see the video card at all" "Again it is plugged into the video card DVI yet is running on integrated graphics."

Do you also have a cable plugged into the Port on the Computer and one Plugged into the GTX 960 at the same time?
Remove the one plugged into that back of the Computer I/O Panel.

What is shown installed in your Bios for your PCIe Slots?

Is the Power Cable Connected to the Video Card? It needs 1 8-Pin PCIe Connector.
Or one 6-Pin if you have this card: EVGA GeForce GTX 960 Superclocked P/N: 02G-P4-2962-KR

Minimum of a 400 Watt power supply, so your 750 should be fine.

Alright to clear any of the confusion, here are my PC Specs after upgrading,

    OS : Windows 8.1
    Motherboard : ASRock z97m Pro4
    CPU:  i5-4690 3.5 GHZ 6mb cache LGA1150
    GPU:  EVGA GEFORCE GTX 960
    RAM: 8gb DDR3
Power supply :750 watt Corsair CX750M

I have the video plugged into the GTX 960, and I have video when I turn on my computer, but when I check in device manager it is using the onboard graphics even tho plugged in to the video card (it is only plugged into the video card, not the motherboard).

I have flashed the BIOS with the most recent version and the problem persist.

If I need to disable the integrated graphics please direct me to where it would be in the bios. I go to Chipset configuration which lets me choose between Onboard, PCI express, and PCI. I have PCI express selected. If there is another way to turn off the integrated graphics I have had no luck finding it.

Well, I am almost certain the card works as I sent back the first one thinking it was a broken and just received this new one today. But my Geforce GT 610 works with it so it supports Nvidia right?

Did it allow you to install the NVIDIA Driver?
Also the card has an old GPU the 960 has the new Maxwell GPU.
I think the GT 610 has the GPU GF119-300-A1

No, I tried to install the drivers for the 960by install using Geforce experience and by downloading from Geforce website, both just do the initial install and then say failed to install.

I was not aware of the difference, if my card is not compatible then I understand the mistake I made and will fix it, but are you confirming that it is in fact not compatible with my motherboard?

    Only that is dose not support NVIDIA SLI;
I would ask ASRock if your motherboards supports 1) NVIDIA Graphics Cards and 2) The GTX 960 Graphics Card.

Don't feel to bad you are not the first to buy a motherboard that only supports AMD Graphics Cards.
And you will not be the last.

    under Chipset Coniguration
    IGPU Multi-Monitor
Select disable to disable the integrated graphics when an external grap
hics card is installed. Select enable to keep the integrated graphics enabled at all times

Checked BIOS, Primary VGA set to PCI Express  IGPU is Disabled. Problem still persist.

Also, when using the Motherboard virtual view, it sees that something is in the PCI express slot.

Im not seeing support for Nvidia with that mobo. let me look more

This is not good: Supports AMD Quad CrossFireX™ and CrossFireX™
It is not Showing NIVDIA SLI Support

found a benchmark using them together... Hmmm definitely interesting

Has benchmarks of it with the GTX 970

Sorry for asking but what exactly do I need to select in Bios to clear it. Thank you all for this help and clarification I truly appreciate it as this is quite frustrating.

That is a 970 card and only one card. No one has Benchmark yet on 3DMarks, that is odd.
I see no reason why One NVIDIA Card would not work on his Motherboard.
But Still the OP should still ask them.

pg 18 of the manual tell you how to clear the cmos. no worries on helping. The bottom slot is a pci x slot. Moving card might not work but its worth the try to check card. when clear the cmos all graphics setting will return to normal

You cannot search on their Forum(s) without an account.

You only have Two PCIe Slots, the other Two Slots in the Middle are PCI. DO NOT FORCE YOUR CARD INTO A PCI SLOT.
PCI Slots are Really OLD By the way, I mean they are not as old as ISA Slots but still on a Z97 Chipset Motherboard.

I just Cleared the Bios using the jumpers on the motherboard and loaded back up with no change except for a different bios prompt at the beginning. So now I will switch slots I suppose.
