This is my first build! Excited to see the build come to life! Here are some components I have already purchased:



Motherboard: EVGA Z97 Stinger Core 3D
Case: Hadron Air
Memory: Hyper X Fury White Series DDR 1600 8gb x 2
Hard drive : Samsung Evo 250gb SSD
Cpu Cooler: GamerStorm Gabriel
Replacement Fan for Cpu Cooler: AeroCool DeadSilence 120mm White
LED Case Lighting: NZXT Sleeved 1m white LED
CPU : Intel Core i5-4690K Devil's Canyon Quad-Core 3.5GHz LGA 1150 HD Graphics 4600 
 
 
Video Card: undecided





Removed HardDrive cage on Hadron Air currently, saving the front part of the cage for the blueray slim drive. I cut the bracket on my NZXT kit to mount on and off/ dimming switch for led's on back 2 holes of Hadron.

What gpu's are you choosing between? I looked at that Gamerstorm Gabriel, that is actually a pretty neat little heatsink, I do like the vertical design more than the traditional horizontal, but the blue color... I look forward to pictures of the build. I am about to build my brother a mitx with the hadron for his college. College these days almost  require computer and internet.

For the GPU I have 3 on my radar:
EVGA GTX 960 FTW 2GB (ACX fans)
PNY GTX 960 2GB (reference design)
MSI GTX 960 2GB (reference design)

Im trying to stay within the $199-$250 range. I'm leaning more toward the MSI GTX 960 because it is a reference design and has the white lettering on the side.

If I come across some extra funds I'll probably get:
EVGA GTX 970 4gb (reference design) currently at $329.

I would personally wait and save for the EVGA 970 reference. Give you more room to grow especially with that z97 (that's a darn good board), and you don't need to the ACX. I don't think the Hadron is really built properly for that type of cooling.

Update on my monochrome mini build: I set this up last night, still need a little cord cleanup and work on centering those hard drives. I'm probably going to remove the blue usb 3.0 cable since the mother board has 4 of them.

Still waiting on my custom backplate and dvd drive.
