Hi, I was thinking about something lately and wanted to know if anyone can give
me an answer to this...

I was considering getting the EVGA extended ATX X99 MB and I was wondering if
in 2 Way SLI  I can put the GPU's in such a way that they will have some spacing in between them for air flow?
Also, If say I wanted to go 3 or 4 way SLI will I have any spacing for GPU's with fans or should I
stick to reference cards due to lack of space? Or is watercooling my only choice?
If I did go water-cooling with a EVGA GTX 980 SC and overclocked with perhaps a custom BIOS flash, how much of a FPS increase can I expect?

Thanks for any advice.

2 way SLI slot 1 and 4 on a 5820K and a lot of room between, 59xx is slots 1 and 3 or 4, and they are stacked for 3 way or 4 way.  So I would highly suggest water at that point.  Also flashing the bios is hit and miss, it would depend on your temps and the type of flash.  The 980 is a good running card out of the box, so I would just look at other reviews of people water cooling them and see what they are getting.

5820k 4.7Ghz, 16GB Crucial 2400Mhz, EVGA X99 FTW, EVGA 1300 G2 PSU, GTX 770 MSI Lightning (SLI), Corsair H110i GT, Phanteks Enthoo Pro case

Ok I see that's great info! I didn't even realize that the slot positions will differ from CPU to CPU. Thx

Yes, it all depends on the MB's PCI-E configuration and amount of PCI-E lanes the CPU provides.   5820k has 28 lanes only while the 5930k and 5960x both have 40.
