    Indeed.
Mine runs hot under a custom loop.

Not really surprising to me. But not a bad little article to read.

Well making such a conclusion based off a single CPU is not good. Also notice the missing temps in there

Some CPUs simply don't scale with temperature or Vcore, but a good custom loop will allow you to increase Vcore while keeping the temps lower too. AIOs are great, but limited in rad space and components after all.

Might be so but, on mine I have One Radiator, 3x120mm 30-FPI Copper with 6 Fan, 120x38mm, 116CFM going into the CPU Block and then into a Radiator, 2x120mm 30-FPI Copper with 4 Fan, 120x38mm, 116CFM and then into a RP-452X2 Dual 5.25in Reservoir for 1-2 PMP-450/S Pumps, Rev.2.0 in this loop. My Water Temp is as low as 23C CPU at 70C at 43GHz. VRM @ 43C
I set the CPU to only 41GHz and my Temps rang between 55C and 65C. At 45GHz then they are between 68C and 76C.
This is with HT off and Crunching 8 Cores or the CPU is at 100% PRIMEGRID. On my -3970X I can run it at 46GHz and the temps never even hit 70C. Same CPU Block on both. The CPU-380I Water Block (Intel Processor) And I have tested this it both Installed modes. With HT On they run about 4C higher across the Cores. Two Cores run at 62C and the two low are at 48C.
The i7-5960X CPU is a Hard CPU to cool even in a custom Water Loop.

Well mine can hit 4.6 GHz easy on a good custom loop with all 5 CPU blocks tested out so far at 1.375 Vcore. With the best CPU cooler I have, the H110i GT, it can only do 4.4 GHz before temps go nuts. Does that mean I can now generalize a statement in favor of custom loops? Not really since I only have one 5960x here and the batch B223720 has had some excellent overclockers in general. So that's why I said basing a conclusion like they did from a single CPU isn't very good.

It would still be nice to know how high we can go as far as temps go.
If it is ok to run at 74C/78C then I would go for it.
On the X79 CPU I know what the limit of 70C and the 90C the Max.

    What were your Temps?

75 C under load is absolutely fine. Keep an eye out for any throttling though. I have a pretty ridiculous setup so it's not very fair to compare with, but 4.6 GHz was about 70 C or so with Realbench, Cinebench, XTU etc.

If we listen CORSAIR nobody will cross on liquid cooling.
But if you want 50C on graphic and 50C on processor under load and fan up to 1500RPM than custom loop is only solution.
    I can't forgive EKWB because circles on X-RES 100 D5 PWM.

Thanks, I did not see any CPU throttling until I was at 5GHz at 76C.
Glad to know about the 75C this would mean that I could run at 45Ghz 7x24.
My Temps are reached by running 100% CPU (8 Cores HT Off) running PRIMEGRID, if find running this project really tests your build on the CPU side. Using AIDA64 Extreme Edition for Temps, as E-LEET Tuning Utility X for the X99 shows not Temps or Voltage YET!?

Yeah, RealTemp and Aida64 are pretty good with x99. A lot of older programs still don't support 8 cores!

I am working with Aida64 and the current Beta Added 2 more spaces for temps.
For 8 Cores and 4 GPUs. They are working on the VRM Temp now as for the X99 it will show AUX until they get it right.
Below in my X79 Dark Rig. I think the beta version that has 12 Spots was 3331 I am now on v5.00.3354 Beta
