I'll agree that it is MUCH safer, But not CHEAPER.

$20 to race in a track, $0 in the streets.

$30 gas to DRIVE an hour to the track

$5 to drive around the corner to the racing spots.

So then the 50$ day at the track would be much cheaper then.

Not necessarily... Every Thursday, That's 4 times a month.... $200  a month as opposed to $150? =P

Oh, you left out the part about going to the track being legal versus going to the street is illegal. Your lack of caring for others around you is pretty low in my book. Obviously you are going to do what you want, because, well, you think you know everything. That is fine if you are only putting your life in danger but when you put other innocent people's lives in danger, that is just childish.

You seriously need to grow up.

This is the radar detector that I use on the daily. Nothing beats that radar!! You should place it as high as I do on my car to get the best detection. I would place it a bit higher but I have some of that black wanna be window tint on my windshield. Its been proven the more tint you have on your windows the less of a detection you will get. The tint blocks the sensitivity of the lens.

The Escort Redline beats the V1 in all out detection capability. I personally use the Passport Max. I wish I had the arrows from the V1, and the better laser detection, but that's it. I will gladly trade that for the GPS capability which I have to block out false signals in town, and alert me to VASCAR, speed cameras, red light cameras, and other things (even user marked locations).

For the best radar detection, mount it as high as possible (yours is in the middle of the windshield). The best laser detection is typically going to be lower on the dash since cops don't target your windshield. Window tint that is metallic will affect radar detection capability, but ceramic (high quality) tint will not. It will affect laser detection capability though because laser is a light source, and tint obviously reduces light transmission. Radar waves are a different story.

I used to spend $400 for a 3 session day.. that didnt even include things like.. tires, transportation, fuel, oil, flushing the brakes after the day.  Cheap as hell out there.

Indeed, They just passed a news session about the events we go to and saying CHP made a task force specifically for this, Which is true... They were telling me this in person. They told me they had undercovers in there whom radio in the location whenever it is announced, There's a huge binder with names of instagrams and all that.... One of the reason why I still don't have my phone back. It's been locked up as evidence since Sunday morning...

My friends told me they will no longer go to these events because of recent events... But you guys know one thing is to say something and another is to do something... spur of the moment actions are what lead to problems.

I'm hoping I build a rep for myself in the high desert as 'the junker'. Wanna see how I got these scars :D?

I recently came across access to a good motor for dirt cheap. It's the guy I'm getting the rest of my parts from. It's in his current car that has a vortech intercooler-less supercharger. Hopefully with everything I'll be doing to my car plus the motor, I'll be pushing 300+hp. Hopefully by the time your out of hot water I'll be done with my car so we can rek the streets.

Enough! This ego trip Blah blah blah back and forth laugh-fest is no laughing matter. I cannot express the distaste I have for those that refuse to understand that a license is a "Privilege" not a right!

My son lost his life five years ago last week in an auto accident as a passenger. No racing was involved. Yet here a few of you are "Glorifying" street racing type activity like it has no impact on others around you.

This happened yesterday. In a "Well" built car. He was only at 140mph...

First off sorry for your loss of your son.

Street racing or not, racing will still kill you. You can get that same exact out look on those pics even if you did take it to the track. The only thing difference on the track is your not putting the average citizens life in harm. But I did have some people argue to me that your still putting other racers at the tracks lifes at risk too if you screw up. But then you can also argue that those racers have pretty much accepted the danger that they are putting themselves into. There are times too that some racers at the track hit the crowds watching.

Anyways I think street racing is cool if you do it in a controlled environment like these guys do.

That is a tv show where they shut the highway/streets down by television/movie production permit. It is a mis-use of public roads that should be against the law in itself. You can ask Sinned about it as he has seen them before.

Street racing is never a controlled environment....a controlled environment is called a race track. I've seen so many street racers that "knew what they were doing" either get seriously injured, killed, or done the same to some innocent motorist. Idiots race on the street period.

Only part of what you are saying is true.

Here is what I mean...
  1. On the track, you are not allowed to race without all Safety gear properly in place. (That is what killed Greg, he did not strap in)
  2. I have yet to see grass on the edge of a track instead of barriers.
  3. This has been discussed over and over. There are 25x's more deaths from "Street" racing than sanctioned racing.
  4. Most of these street racing deaths are from kids who are without all the proper safety gear.
  5. That show your are showing is not Street Racing like what is happening in this thread. That is "Controlled" street racing with all the Safety gear including ambulances and roads blocked off. Simply not even the same thing.
  6. Street Racing is ILLEGAL.

I'm sorry for your loss.

I understand what you mean about the license as well, When the officer told me my license was being revoked permanently, I felt as if my life had ended. For 3 days I thought that it was being revoked, Until my Public Defender told me what they were offering me... I got to keep my license and I believe it takes these kind of things for change.

Obviously, I won't say I'm going to change... But for example, Remember my incident back in 2012? I was always doing dumb things with my weapons, People told me I'd get caught up and I did. I learned my lesson that time and I have no plans on purchasing any weapons... My plan is to go to the shooting range and rent weapons instead, To fulfill my needs.

It sucks that I'm such a hard headed person that needs to be in a serious situation before learning, But I think county jail is a better lesson than having to be in a life threatening situation before learning.. As much as it seems like I don't learn, I do.

I'm going to be honest with you guys, It's not that I can't drive my car, It's that my dad asked me not to drive it. He said he's scared because of what CHP and LAPD told him that they'd look for me if they saw me around to mess with me and because if I violate my probation for any reason, I do 1 year in county, He's scared. I'm done not listening to my parents, I've let them down so much. I'm leading my life straight as an arrow AT LEAST until probation is over. By then, It might stick to me anyways..
