Just wanted to give a quick update to those who may be holding off because they read about performance issues...

First of all my rig; i7-3930k, at 4.6ghz, SLi 2x 680s, 16gig ram (4x sticks), Asus 144hz monitor

I've got everything on high, removed vsynch (always do this since this is an LED monitor), view distance at 100%, all effects on except that stupid movie grain (edited the file). And it runs EXTREMELY SMOOTH!

The game actually feels like its been out for awhile with how smooth it runs on my rig. I'm very impressed, they did their homework and made this a great buy. Lighting is incredible, and shadows are amazing; usually shadows suck the life out of a gaming engine...for some reason in Dying Light, this doesn't seem to be the case.

Grab the game if you can afford it... some people may have had performance issues, but I have to say it seems that I haven't had any! --Alright, back to killing zombies and trying to find a darn pistola!

    Do you have MSI Afterburner?
If you could you enable the OSD for system ram usage and pagefile usage and tell ne how much is being used

TotalBiscuit had a port report that states if you turn down the DOF it doesn't really have a huge quality affect, but kicks the FPS up significantly. If anyone has any trouble, with performance, it is worth a try. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VDqVv5xQ5eo

Yeah, it is pretty good. I like the combat and parkour elements. The story is pretty meh... It's like Dead Island, with the map being huge and wide open. It gives you a task to complete and completely leaves it open how you do that.

Yeah, I had just seen about a third of the video and saw the crafting window. I liked the graphics and gameplay in the video. I haven't played D.I. because after playing the L4D series, it was a bit repetitive which turned me off of zombie games for a while.

My specs are a bit lower than the minimum (stock i7 920 and a matching GTX 670 4 GB) but I think I'll be safe when I turn down draw distance.

Edit: I've been looking at maybe getting a used i7 975 Extreme as a cheap upgrade without changing chipsets.

I see a lot of AMD users are not happy with the game performance.

Yeah. I probably wouldn't be either. Honestly, performance could be better. I mean, I am running a 980 with 4930k and with settings at max my performance is between 50 and 70 FPS. I can turn down textures and some other settings to get it to stay above 70 though. Remember, I do believe that Totalbiscuit runs double Titans.

I've got V-sync on and view distance at the lowest with ambient occlusion off.  I average 60 FPS with my setup at 1200p.  VRAM hits the ceiling, lol.  I'm so glad I picked up the GTX 670 with 4GB at the time.

The game is pretty good, actually. Last game that I played all the way through was Alien Isolation. I am going to play this one all the way through as well. Most games, nowadays, are too much crap to play all the way through. If I play a game through then it is good.

Yeah, finished in 14 hours. The game was REALLY good, but the ending was REALLY cheap. It falls back on button mashing for the finale... After all that great gameplay and fighting mechanics... They fall back on button mashing for the end of the game? Yeah, CHEAP ending.

    ^^^ this.

Game runs silky smooth on my rig, 5930k, 16gb DDR4 2800MHz, GTX980 HC, Asus ROG swift at 1440P everything maxed out but it should with my specs.
