So I just built my new X99 dream computer. I don't know how others feel about this, but, whenever I build a new computer I always check the device manager to see if there are any exclamation marks on any of the drop downs. I do this to make sure that 1- All the drivers installed correctly, and 2-The the hardware is functioning correctly. Well, after installing all of the drivers, and updating the BIOS, I still have 2 exclamation points. About a week ago, only HALF of my usb ports were working. I erased all of the USB drivers and reinstalled the most current ones from the website, and now they're all working. However, I still have one unrecognized USB port hub* and one PCIE simple communications controller* that aren't working.

Does anyone know what this means? Is this a sign of an intermittent issue? Should I just RMA the motherboard? Any help would be wonderful. Thank you guys, in advance! Here's a picture to see what I'm talking about. I'm running windows 7 64bit, and this is an ASRock X99 Extreme6/AC motherboard.

Maybe just simply a driver is missing..Get Unknown Device Identifier, that might help..If not, post the Device/Hardware ID from the Device Manager -> Properties -> Details tab for the devices in question and maybe I can tell you what they are/what you need.

Thank you for taking a look! Fortunately, after some research I found out that the PCI Simple Communications* is infact the Chipset Driver. I went on to Intels website and ASRocks website and found out that my chipset driver needed to be installed AFTER a certain windows registry update. (which I didn't know). Normally when I build a computer, I install the drivers first, then updates. Now I'm just going to pay more attention to that in the future. I maid sure my computer was up to date, ran the new INF and Intel chipset drivers and TADA! It works! Exclamation point gone :)

As far as the Unknown USB device, I had an SD Card reader slot plugged in to my motherboard that my computer didn't recognize. I unplugged it and that one went away too. So I just need to talk to my case manufacturer and figure out which drivers I need for the SD card reader, and where I should plug it in. Thanks for your help bob!

To keep your computer up to date with the latest drivers I would recommend getting all your drivers from http://www.station-drivers.com/ it's where I download all my drivers from. The site always has the most recent drivers posted.

EDIT: I do however download all my GPU drivers from the nvidia website. Everything else I get from station-drivers

Run the install disk that came with your X99 Motherboard that will take care of your missing device.
I worked fine on my X99 Classified Motherboard. All my Devices are installed and no Yellow in Device Manager.
It is part of Intel ME and also should be on your Rock Disk.

So did you get the driver *Fix from the Vender's Web, Intel's Web Site, or was it from www.station-drivers.com?

I got the fix from ASRock's website since they're my mobo manufacturer, and everything is ticking right along :) I think I feel comfortable doing some "light" overclocking now.

I just use the google chrome translate feature to correct the webpage.
