I've got a 780i sli (not ftw) that's worked great for years. had 2 x 2GB Corsairs in slots 0 and 3. Corsair CMX2X2048-6400C4DHX 800Mhz 4-4-4-12 2.10V v1.1. I bought 2 more identical sticks and it gave error sli memory disabled and wouldn't boot stuck on post. Tried new sticks by themselves and it booted. Tried 4 again, same thing, then read I should boot off 2 and disable sli memory and manually set timings. Now it won't boot at all with even 1 stick in any slot, just detects timing and sits, can't enter BIOS. Reset CMOS no luck. Tried cheaper Patriot ram I know worked before with no luck. Had never overclocked anything, was on optimal. Is the ram bus fried? Have latest BIOS. LED stuck on 6D which mean initializing floppy which I don't have. 1 VGA card only.
Thanks

Doesn't sound very good..Try clearing CMOS using the second method here if you haven't yet and use only one stick of RAM.

Thanks for the tip. Tried pulling battery for 30 min but same result. 1 stick in there now but it hangs. Shows Phoenix BIOS, shows memory clock 800 tcl6 trcd6 trp6 tras18 2T timing 64bit, fsb clock is 1333 and nothing below. lights on keyboard don't light up and fans aren't slowing down like they usually do after 5 seconds..hosed?
    thanks again

You put one stick in but try another single stick of the same ram

AMD Ryzen 9 7950X,  Corsair Mp700 Pro M.2, 64GB Corsair Dominator Titanium DDR5  X670E Steel Legend, MSI RTX 4090 Associate Code: H5U80QBH6BH0AXF. I am NOT an employee of EVGA

Thanks. I have 8 sticks now, the 4 i want and 4 mid-level sticks that worked while i was waiting for the ebay ones, none work by themselves in any slot unfortunately. I see the BIOS screen but it gets stuck on the ram timing, can't get into BIOS with del. Reset jumper and took battery out a few times. Board's been awesome until now, it's a bummer it can't recover, wonder if it had been fine if i had disabled sli memory or set timings manually before inserting new same additional pair. It was on optimal.

Maybe if you can try re update flash the latest BIOS again (it may cause problem in BIOS) and try test boot up but you need to disable Floppy disk in BIOS setting!!!
try test each one sticks!! If you cannot access BIOS setting so when boot up freeze try press and hold power button on the motherbroad for few secs it will reset!!
