Bridge doesn't look custom. Backplate does though.

The Sli bridge is a 3way painted to match the classified red. The 3way bridge was converted to a 2 way Sli bridge with one slot between cards (Asus maximus formula motherboard uses this kind of configuration for the 2 x16 slots). The leds in the Sli bridge also shines red along with the leds in the gpus.

Thanks man.. I couldn't be happier with EVGA for building these cards. First time EVGA owner, feel these cards best my Asus and Sapphire cards in quality.

What boost clock do you run them at?  What games are you playing? Awesome cards.

Hmm so the Pro SLI bridges do work on the 900 series. I wonder if you can change the color for the 960s or if they will be stuck on white.

That's because you chose Classified, difference between them and rest of industry is obvious.
My E-ATX motherboard look small near Classified size series 700.
That's what I like to see.
I'm not actually sure what is wider 1200 P2 power supply or KP Classified card, look almost same size through panel.

The top card sees max temps around 65c and the bottom cards max is 62c. When gaming the cards are top 58c bottom 55c.

As for boost clocks, game stable at 1516 core and 2050 memory. Benching st 1580 and 2200 memory. All on air.

The pro cards do work on all 980s however the early 970s people reported that it would not light. So I couldn't say for sure if they would light on the 960s. I would think that you could make the LED shine blue with a light gel.

You should show pictures in MODS RIGS with specifications and benchmark scores.
I'm sure you will get many positive comments.
Over 1500MHz Boost stable in games and benching on 1580MHz is very nice.

I may do that when I get a free minute. I've thought about it before but always figured my rig wouldn't be well responded to, being a rog mobo and z97.

I got a ROG board.. tho only like one person has checked it out sense I added it. No one has complained of it being ROG Hero and not a EVGA.

Yes if someone cross to ROG from EVGA maybe he had some bad experience, that happen to both team.
Personally I don't like ROG hardware and he didn't wake in me same love for hardware as EVGA. But when I pay attention on EVGA that was because Classified and ROG graphic cards are inferior in fabric clock. I'm very angry when some reviews who didn't saw EVGA Classified start to talk Matrix is for us best single graphic card, that would be same as someone who live on Cuba with 40 years under sanction talk about Mustang and what model is better now or before 5 years. They don't know for better and between GIGABYTE, MSI, I agree probably ASUS have most expensive production of hardware, that's visible on paint, materials, and I completely understand if someone live on place where MSI, GIGABYTE and ASUS are available I would made every single component Republic of Gamers, when I say everything I mean everything from sound card to the motherboard and Matrix and completely change their style with waterblocks.
Lot of people here have MODS RIGS with Republic of Gamers hardware, graphics, motherboards, some of them bought GIGABYTE before, or EVGA or MSI...
If you look Matrix Platinum 980 or GTX780Ti she is ugly, low clock, look as some bug, back side is wider than front, PCB is naked from side bigger than shroud, pipes are visible from side, motherboard Extreme Black have weird heatsinks ....
but now that's different picture... combination of this two you can't recognize ASUS in dark case with LED lights

I own the matrix R9 290x in an amd 9590 fx build and like how it performs for a 290x. The 980 matrix however has a lot of reports of Heat issues with stock cooler and doesn't compare to evga in my opinion in quality.

Yes the work fine on my 980 cards, the 2-Way and the 3-Way, sad that my 4-Way Pro Bridge was stolen.

In Serbia R9-290X Matrix was not available.
GTX980 Matrix is available and GTX780Ti Matrix is available.
It's not only that card hot, whole series of their custom cards have big reports and complains of hot VRM even on their extremely low OC.
And Kepler and Maxwell. That's because you can touch PCB with fingers and nothing protect him. Because of that card look much cheaper.
I hear that's not metal on top but I'm not sure.
But I can't back on AMD, it's not same at all. OK Radeon still have lot of fans special among older people, but it's not same any more.
For me best cards of all is Titan Black. Nice card with not cheap look with 384bit 6GB.
But from GPU performance side I would always choose some extremely overclocked GTX980 over Titan Black.
Difference between GTX980 Classified and Titan Black out of box is not little at all,
it's not so small difference that you can say OK I would choose 2GB more.

I agree, I would trade off Vram for superior gpu performance. I've owned 2 sapphire vapor x 7970GHZ 6GB AND These classified cards destroy them. In some games the sapphire would utilize 5.8gb of vram and the classified wouldn't go past 3.0 gb. Same game, same settings and the classifieds crushed the 7970s. But I do think the 980s would benefit from more vram when compared to themselves.

The matrix r9 290x back plate doesn't sound like metal when you tap on it with your fingernail, so it may indeed be plastic or a cheaper material then the other's. But hey Asus didn't milk an extra $20 for them.

GTX980 Classified is better than GTX980 Matrix because higher clock, backplate is off course nicer for EVGA cards.
I like most backplates on GTX580, 20$ for that is OK for me.
But now and backplate from 980 K|NGP|N is nice too, and you get installed.
No matter is it card with backplate or you need to buy extra that's recommended for me, even with water blocks.
I didn't thought only on backplate, one review as negative comment for ASUS GTX980 Matrix say Shroud is not from metal.
That mean plastic, what else can be.

Fan shrouds to me are fine being plastic. The backplate however should be of metal for heat transfer.

For me too, on mine card shroud is fine and on GTX780 Classified was nice, immediately I saw it's not some cheap version.
They pay attention to look nice.

Edit: 980 K|NGP|N Classified have metal shroud. I could imagine how that look holding in hands.
That's for all ASUS fans who curse plastic shroud on EVGA ACX as something bad even if plastic is very good for temps and vibration if quality is high, but now they could look their plastic Matrix while EVGA 980 KP have premium metal.
