i had this all the time and found a fix.
go to your hard drive and under x86 go to steam
delete the steam appcache folder;
then under steamapps go to common go to advanced warfare, then players2.
then delete the config_mp.cfg file.
then run ccleaner.
when you restart steam it will download the files back on your hard drive.
this works for me 100% of the time.
if i do not run ccleaner i still get the can not connect issue.
make sure you empty the recycle bin before trying to connect to steam.
