I just recently RMAed my x58 for BSODs. I installed the replacement and it ran very well, in fact this is the best my computer has ran a long while.

I poked around on the internet this morning before work and then headed out. I returned from work and everything was off (keyboard, mouse...etc.) but my case light was still on. I turned it off and tried to reboot and it would just hang with no power to the USBs. So I shut it down again, turned off the PSU and removed the cord. I let it sit like this for about 45 seconds then plugged it back in and turned on the PSU. I hit cleared CMOS and then tried to power back up. Now it powers on for maybe 1 - 2 seconds and then off in a continuous loop. I waited to see if it was the standard 3 loop that you'll see on gigabyte but no go, it keeps looping. The errors that I was getting was 02, EA, 01, 68. I'll update if the errors change. Has anyone else seen this happen? Is it possible that this board failed already or am I missing something?

Thanks!
House

    Ok, error code round 2!

    F3, F6, F3, F3, 68... This occurs during the loop.

I popped out the battery, held down the CMOS reset for more than 5 seconds this time, even popped out a stick of RAM and still nothing... still looping.

OK unseat every single cable everywhere attached to or from the motherboard. Then reseat every cable.

Ok, will give that a go tonight when I get home. Anything else I should watch for while I'm doing that?

If the problem still occurs try one stick of ram and swap out that one for another if it continues. Do you have another PSU to try?

Ok, one stick at a time?

I might be able to dig out an old PSU I have laying around.

In case one stick is bad you need o try more than one of course.

Definitely try another PSU if possible.

Update on this really old post - turned out it was in fact the replacement motherboard. Went ahead and just swapped it for a Z87 - problem solved ;-) Now to learn how to OC this new chipset. Should be about time to start (1yr later).

Thanks for updating the resolution for your issue.  If you have questions or need help overclocking, don't hesitate to post over in the Z87 section, or, for OC'ing, the Overclocking, Cooling, Benchmarking section.
