I have just got the evga titan black superclocked for a good price, just a little bit more than the gtx 980.
but I hav read on the web that the gtx980 is a higher performer than the titan black,, but the titan black cost more.
I don't understand, I got the titan black superclocked becuse it had more cuda cores (thus more processor cores = more processing power), 384 bit memory bus width and 6 gb memory which are more than the gtx 980. I want to use it for paint shop pro software, converting avchd video codec to mp4, photo and video editing and playing some games.
Would the gtx980 be better for me? if so I can still change it for the gtx980 superclocked I have 30 days money back guarantee!
Could you please let me know the difference please?

When the GTX 980Ti is released will that be more powerful than the titan black superclocked even for workstation use?
Will it have the same memory bus width 384 and memory 6gb as the titan black?
What does Ti version actually mean?

We will know when benchmarks are done.  When the information is released, and the true end user tests start.  Until then, guessing gets you curious but no 100% certain answers.

A Titan in my book is still king of the hill without a question. 2GB more VRAM then a GTX 980, and with a mild overclock will easily perform on par with a GTX 980. As far as future proofing your PC goes. A Titan(especially Z) is the ultimate option(for Nvidia cards that is). Hec I'd take a vanilla titan over a 980 any day if it were in my price range!

A Titan Z performs significantly worse than 2 titans in almost every instance.

Because the 980 is a gaming gpu and the titan is a multipurpose, work and gaming gpu. Hence the double precision on the titan and not on the 980.

So these benchmarks that they are showing, they seem to be giving the wrong picture, Are they just gaming bench marks rather than 
multipurpose (paintshop pro, video editing, gaming) use?

For me in real world use I'm using the Titan Black as my primary on a 4 K G-sync monitor. The vram makes all the difference. I'd like to use the 980scs', but until the 8 gig vram models come out the Titan Black is what works. I have 2 980scs' and have gone back and forth several times checking it. I now just use one of the 980scs on the 2nd and 3rd monitors (2 K). I went back and forth on the 4 K monitor because I want to eventually have a 4 K triple setup. But till higher vram cards come out (or somehow sli becomes able to see each cards vram additively)  this setup works for me. 
You didn't mention what res monitor you are using, and that is going to make a large difference. I primarily game with some photoshop and autocad thrown in.
And after gaming and working on the 4 K G-Sync for a couple weeks I couldn't give it up. Even 2 980scs in sli on a single 4 K g-sync monitor couldn't keep up with the Titan Black because of the vram. I'm hoping the higher vram models come out before my step-up runs out (April 4th).
