So I didn't see a thread on this, apologies if there is one and I missed it. Who else picked one of these up? There's a bunch of new G-Sync and Adaptive Sync displays that were announced at CES 2015 including IPS ones but I don't think any of them are quite as nimble as the PG278Q is. The IPS ones are tempting but they still have 4-5 ms g2g and the potential for overshoot with the panels being overdriven is another concern. That said, this has to be one of the best displays I've ever owned. I've got a 10 bit LG IPS which has fantastic colors and 5 ms g2g but it pales in comparison to this one for gaming. After some calibration, the Asus looks fantastic.

It is a great monitor...  I've been enjoying mine since the release.

Here's a thread you may like.  Lots of posting about it.  The 1st several pages are leading up to it's release.  >>  http://forums.evga.com/Asus-ROG-SWIFT-PG278Q-m2133689.aspx

I just want to see a demo of these in surround, would be amazing.
I'm thinking I might be part of this owners club soon.

I love this monitor. I've read various reviews where they weren't thrilled with the colors but on mine, without touching anything, I think they look very good.

Yeah it's an 8 bit TN panel so if the color is bad to some people it's because they just need to do some very minor adjustments. I love the color reproduction of this panel, only thing I dislike is the AG coating, I wish it was glossy.

can I ask people about the base LED's? Do you think the LED can be changed to different color, or is the plastic ring itself the color? Just wondering so that I can know if I will go with the acer 1440p or the acer 1440p swift for my wife, but her computer is all blue colored.

Seta, you could always put some electrical tape on the led base, if not. I hope to be an owner , but it will have to used or a good price drop[I'm cheap].

Price drop will probably happen around March after the new AHVA and Free Sync competition is released.

Yes BF4 looked good, but I'm a competetive player, objects being that small you never play League gaming

I understand what you are saying,I am still working on fan profiles/temp monitoring etc. and will make time when I am finished tinkering to really check this monitor out.In BF4...do you run her @144?

Love mine.  Curious about the upcoming Asus IPS (read it's not true IPS or whatever) 144hz G sync version.

Is there anything I should do to make sure it runs at optimal settings?

There's a driver on the CD or download it from the ASUS website.
Also, drop the contrast from 50 down to 49

I cant recommend any specific setting for that.
I turned brightness way down to 32.
Just adjust it until it feels good.

Congratz and welcome to the club...

The only settings changes I made was dropping the brightness to 40.  Eveything else I left "as is" out of the box.  Even when I tried calibrating it with a 3rd party tool, I ended up with the same factory settings and my adjusted brightness of 40.

Tweaking the brightness & contrast will be more to your personal preference...

I'm planing on getting the non G-sync PB278Q if that counts. For me I can't justify the price on the G-sync PB278Q, it would be nice to have though. If it was the same price as the Samsung U28D590D 4k then I would think about getting it.

The EVGA GTX 580 SC reference model was the best graphics card I have ever owned, until the EVGA GTX 980 SC with the ACX 2.0 cooler came along.
